Blu-ray movie releases for the week of Mar. 16
So last week had a pretty good line-up with lots of different movies to choose from. This week, the choices are slim. There's only two movies this time around: I am Legend and Disney's Enchanted. Both flicks are pretty good -- I am Legend especially. If you had picked up Independence Day and/or I, Robot from last week, then you could start a Will Smith marathon. Fresh Prince of Bel-Air next please!

I am Legend was a huge disappointment in terms of staying believable. Especially the nonsense around how the woman knew about the survivor camp in Vermont was a deal-breaker for the movie. Even a sci-fi movie needs to stay credible within the boundaries of its premise and I am Legend failed horribly in that regard.

Agreed. I am Legend was decent up until the end. The whole messenger of God thing was ridiculous and then heading to vermont to a smal outpost in the middle of the woods while never actually being in Vermont before ruins the movies credibility. Combine that with the pious sanctimonious attitude of the movie towards the end turned me off.

The Blu-Ray version actually has two different cuts of the film. One cut has a completely different ending that was a lot more powerful IMHO and fit the original book better. They also cut out the messenger of god crap. The new ending isn't actually too hard to find online.

I was also mad at the ending it was not at all good like the the books ending that leads to the second book. The weird thing is WB bought rights to the second book after the first film made a lot of cash. If you saw the end of the film there is no way there can be a second.
As for Enchanted I know a lot of people that saw that and said it was a really good movie and even though I do not like these kind of movies they said I might enjoy it. Plus Amy in it is a plus.

Eh, I dunno what all the hate is about for the ending, I thought it was pretty good. Sure, all the messenger of God stuff was a bit much, but this "I just know" kind of stuff shows up in movies all the time. If it makes you feel better, just pretend she heard a radio message from them too like she heard the one from New York.

There's the second and actual original ending =) I like this ending way more than the first one in the theatres.
Good movie and absolutely STUNNING performance by Will Smith.
