Metal Gear Solid downloadable hitting Japan soon

Perhaps to celebrate the release of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4, Konami's classic tactical espionage action game is hitting the PSN. The downloadable version of the original PS1 Metal Gear Solid will arrive in Japan on March 21st and will cost 600 yen. Hopefully, other territories will be able to get their Snake on as well.

I really hope it's also released in all market, Metal Gear Solid is an awesome game.

I was really hoping for an updated version of this for the PSP (a la GC's twin snakes kinda thing) but if this comes to the US, it will no doubt be the first game I buy through the PSN!

Like Chris I'd love to have seen a Twin Snakes type remake hit the PSN, but I wont say no to this one....even though I already have it the PSone discs.

this is really great news. i do hope they bring it to america. i dont know one person who doesnt enjoy this game. my only question though. how would you beat Psycho Mantis? remember on the game you would have to use port 2 in order to confuse him. game is so tight.

I just hope this comes to the EU store cause I'm in New Zealand and I've been wanting this so bad for the PSP. If it only comes to the US store well I'll be really disapointed.

There IS a technique. I kinda forget what it is though.. something like shooting other items in the room.

But I'm guessing it'll be like the current PSX emulation techniques on CFW. If you hit the Home button, there's a controller port reassigning thing.

I ripped my original MGS discs and dumped it into the PSP through this lol. Pretty sure its legit, since I have the original?
