GameStop predicts $50 PS3 price cut
Video game retailer GameStop recently held a conference call to discuss its corporate earnings. In it, GameStop noted that both the Xbox 360 and PS3 are bound for a price cut some time this year. They're predicting a $50 price cut for both machines (the PS3 would start at $349 if this prediction comes true). However, GameDaily notes that "they did not get that information from the manufacturers, however; it's merely the retailer's educated guess."
Price drops are a regularity in the industry, and we think the PS3 is due for one this year as well. An increasingly attractive software lineup coupled with a price drop is certain to boost Sony's install base.

Is Haze a PS3 exclusive? No. Yes. No. Yes. Maybe. Yes. Maybe!

Neh, there's only so many games you can talk about, and only one monolithic piece of hardware. So, eh.
Though yeah, being at work, and refreshing this page for some news does get monotonous =P.
If you care about being green, here's a third piece of news:

Sony's still up close to t3h top.

Dahk, why don't you just install an RSS feed reader and have it pop up when there's a new story posted? I don't know what options you have in Windows or Mac, but there are plenty in Linux. I use Liferea, myself.
LoCuSt @ Mar 19th 2008 1:52PM
The price cuts are never bad for people who don't have the system but man I nearly spent $400 more (I bought the 2 year product replacement plan). DAMN YOUS!
Dahk @ Mar 19th 2008 2:45PM
LOL why? It's like the least brokzored-prone of the bunch.
Anyway, eh try telling that to someone who picked it up near launch =P.
adamevex @ Mar 19th 2008 1:59PM

Lp47PS3 @ Mar 19th 2008 3:48PM
It's cheap enough. How cheap can they get. When i buy a PS3 for cheaper than an ipod i think to myself WTF?
Neo Senku @ Mar 19th 2008 7:31PM
Thats says more about the ipod costing more than it is really worth than the ps3 being too cheap, cause at the end of the day an ipod is just a damn mp3 player.
I think 350 would be a decent price for the ps3 for a long time personally.
Tranando @ Mar 19th 2008 4:46PM
Seems Europe has a PS3 pricecut.. £30 off. £269.99 (£10 more than a 360 Elite).

Expect to see BOTH sony and M$ drop the prices by GTAIV.
M$ will be whoring about the 'extra episodes'
Sony will be touting the $349 complete with Blu-ray.
'twill be interesting to watch.

Wow that's a badass looking Gamestop in the picture. All the gamestops around me look like crappy old arcades.

You may consider checking out http://Playstation3Price.com I visited a link from their sponsor and they hooked it up. If you can't pay for a PS3 sign up for the newsletter, they say they are giving out prizes and you might win a system. The newsletter they send has saved me a couple hundred dollars on all the games I purchased.
