Haze exclusivity debacle rages on

It isn't that we really care if a game like Haze is permanently exclusive or a timed exclusive for the PS3, but it seems to remain a popular debate. Looking back on Ubisoft's history regarding exclusivity for the game, it's pretty funny to note how many times they've flipped their own words or have had them misconstrued by the media. The latest rumor was that Haze would only be on the PS3 forever -- we even posted about it the other day. Now Ubisoft is saying they have not ruled out a 360 version. Truth be told, none of this stuff even matters if the game never gets released. It's been way, way, way overdue.

Haze looks pretty from the screens and the concepts behind the nectar could be really cool but from what we've been hearing the execution on level design could kill the game.

Ubisoft is probably filled with money-grabbing execs who know they'll get more money if they do it on the 360. I hope it only remains PS3, but I'm pretty sure greed is going to win out.

I really HOPE it isn't an exclusive, because I'm betting the game will be kind of lacklustre, so it's not the kind of IP Sony should be touting as "a system seller" or something.

With everything else that's out and is coming out, I can't say I care that much. IGN is still listing the game as "Also available on the PC, XBox360," so clearly they aren't buying the whole PS3 exclusivity reports. However good this game might be, it's going to be overshadowed by MGS4, and that's a fact.

I fully agree on this one.

And I'm one to haggle and argue about keeping MGS4 exclusivity and FFXIII exclusivity lol. I just couldn't care less if this game goes to the 360.

I think a lot of us PS3Fs have essentially... taken the "multiplatform nectar". We're used to the multiplatform pain, don't feel it, and still running feverishly in the battlefield =D.

exactly. i really dont care if it goes to 360 or not. i hate exclusives, if its good, let everyone play it. consumers are the one that loose out with these exclusives cause then you have to buy all three consoles to play all the good games. i mean i know exclusives are necessary and all but i think PS3 has enough coming out to keep it afloat without this (apparently) potential flop.

Really looking forward to the game though, hope you can many of the weapons, not just the one already demonstrated in the David Doak voiceover old gameplay vid.

I've given up on Haze. It was a fun idea when it was a PS3 exclusive during the Holiday season, but with so many great games, probably better too, coming out now, I don't really need another FPS. They should abandon this game and go back to making Timesplitters 4.

Other than Halo 3 (as of now) basically ALL high profile 360 exclusive releases are also available on teh computer.

I really have lost interest and couldnt care less if HAZE comes out for cell phones, or the microwave oven or any other random household appliance.

I've been saying this for what now...six months.

HAZE is not exclusive.

Howard Stringer himself said so when he held HAZE up as an example of devs using the PS3 first to port to X360.

Any other suggestion is just marketing and always has been.

its not exclusive and has been delayed as they aborted PS3 development, began 360 development then started porting it over to the PS3... I kid you not (well I do as I made all that up).

Why would any consumer want any game to be one platform only? Games sell better on every platforms when available on more than one just because they get more exposure that way. Potential customers see the game on another platform and then buy it for the platform that they have.

People invest in their hobbies and want to see the best games come to their console of choice. The exclusivity of certain titles becomes an 'identity' for both the console and the people that have committed their cash and time to that console.

Most people, I would think, think HALO when asked about an Xbox or Mario when asked about a Nin machine. Sony has been all things to all people for 2 generations and I think we are still looking for our next gen identity (GT and MGS are soon to address that).

first off anyone who is angry that 360 owners might also get to play this game is pathetic. I would like to hear one good reason that it is a bad thing that it might appear on the 360. Secondly, why is anyone excited for Haze, the gameplay videos make this game seem mediocre at best. Aside from the interesting story concept the game does not look good at all.

A lot of people keep saying this, but really, it's got more interesting gameplay than most other shooters out there. At least they're doing something more than just run and gun (like the majority of shooters out there).

Ugh, you know what? They're full of crap.
End of story. If they want to put this damn game in the microwave and blow it up, I don't care. I guess in the end Microsoft won and threw cash in their face so they're going to release this for the 360 as well, thus giving us a crappy port.

I had hopes for this game and now it's wavering.

I wouldnt be suprised if 'at the last minute' its cancelled.. i can bet by the time it comes out theres going to be so many problems with it online. I bought the PS3 when this was due out in January now all the hype ive had for it is gone. Its not something i really am looking forward too anymore. Its just not the same.. *they say* well get it too u next month!... wait.. now 2 months.. Damn.. we do apoloagize.. 6 months.. oh.. shoot.. The PS3 isnt getting it.. Xbox 360 exclusive.. were very sorry. Wait for Killzone 2. At least we all no thats arriving :D Sorry Haze but im spending my cash on somethign the PS3 community is recieving! Thanks!
