Media Molecule
came out of their hiding place to assure anxious gamers that
LittleBigPlanet is, in fact, coming along quite nicely and is about to enter the Alpha stage of development. What does this mean? They say that "basically this means all the cool stuff we said will be in there should be playable, even if it isn't pretty enough to release." Well, the last known release date for the game is September. Making the game look pretty shouldn't take all that long, right? Perhaps this is one release date that will stick. We'll find out!

this game looked amazing even in the really EARLY stages. Knowing they are adding me just makes my mind go all fizzly!!

Still looks fantastic, but I am aching for more info on the actual gameplay of LBP.

If its just now getting to alpha its gonna get pushed back. If its at alpha they are still going to have to test it for bugs then go back and fix those bugs which may cause other bugs to pop up and so on. Look for this game to hit next year not 2008.

Yeah I'm on the fence with this one. They've been developing it and showing it off for what, 2 years now? And it's Alpha now?
I have a feeling it'll either blow right through the beta stage and get released on time, for some reason.

ugh...
from Alpha to gold in under 6 months? I love everything that has been shown about LBP thus far, but I really doubt MM will be able to release LBP by September, my bet is on Christmas 08 the earliest...
They are on Pre-Alpha...
Alpha > Beta > Release candidate (or Gamma/Omega) > Gold
Yah, I don't think they'll make it for a game that is supposed to be that complex....but if they think they can, then more powah to you brothars!

I'm undecided on this game; I know I won't create anything and isn't that half the fun?

That's the great thing about it being online, you get to play other peoples creations. So you can let other people create stuff while you just download and play it. I'm thinking of a ninja stage right now that would be awesome.

I thought it was much further along
