Master Chief comes to PS3, courtesy of Unreal Tournament

It was only a matter of time until the Unreal Tournament III community started building some truly spectacular mods for use on PS3. This Master Chief suit, for example, looks just as good (if not better) than his model in Halo 3. Hey!>? Maybe they can make a patch so I can actually play this game on the internet; because I'll tell you a secret, it's unplayable online. Warhawk is 32 players, and lag free. Yet ut3's 16 cap adds nothing but unplayable lag.

pick a server with a ping less than 250=no lag. don't use quickmatch.

I have no problem playing cod4, warhawk, even pc games. but ut3 is UNPLAYABLE. That and the fact that a nice server list refresh does nothing but give me servers w/ pings of about ???. That's right. Just question marks.

UT3 sits under my copy of warhawk and collects dust.

I never once experienced lag playing this game online. Not sure what you're talking about. I'm using Time-Warner internet. I never had any problems whatsoever. I just assumed no one else did, either.

Epic?
Ageia? The modders creators?
The people responsible for making the mod?
Sony?
The downloaders?

Who exactly is facing the potential lawsuit, and why? What reasoning does Bungie or Microsoft have for suing, if anything, this will never get to court, and if it did, if not disregarded for stupidity, they would simply waste money.

Besides, this is probably the closest some people will even get to playing with the master chief. Especially those who happen to dislike Halo, whether or not they have 360.

I doubt there will be a lawsuit. I mean it's possible, but probably not. They're not making money off of it, it's not actually stolen, and they can't possibly say Halo 3 is losing customers because of it.

No lawsuits have ever come out of people drawing their favorite cartoon, anime, or video game characters and uploading them on the net. This guy (or girl) just made a 3d model of his favorite character.

hahahaha now i'm just waiting for a total conversion version on halo 3 on unreal wouldn't that be something.....actually can someone answer my question does UT3 on the ps3 only support mods for characters maps and mutators or do they also do total conversion mods like the original counter strike and red orchestra?

They havent released a lot of the stuff needed. Or maybe i have been lagging behind. Been a while since i touched the editor as my laptop was too slow.

Ive been waiting for a Halo TC on UT3 for a while...but sadly, it won't happen for a while... a lot of modders/groups dont take on big projects like that until the 'Make Something Unreal' contest, which Epic should be doing soon, and thats where we will see some pretty awesome stuff, Guarentee you we will see a Halo TC

You can change everything with the Unreal Editor...Maps, Characters, Sounds, Physics, etc...

Potentially you can re-do the whole game, and make a racing game like Need For Speed, and do laps, race exotic cars, etc...

The sky is the limit with the Unreal Editor

Unfortunetly, for the PS3, they limit only 1 thing I believe, custom sounds due to the ram in the PS3.

Heckteck... Yes you can do TC on UT3... I dont know where the list of things you can do to the game is ... I think its on epics website... but I know TCs are possible.

If your having Gaming Connection Problems you may want to make sure you are NOT using WEP encryption.

I was having Problems with Slow PSN Downloads, etc.
I switched off all Firewalls and Encryption (Basically a DMZ) and the Problem went away. Then I turned them on one by one, the WEP encryption made it slow again.

When I got a New Router I had the SAME PROBLEM. So I switched All my Devices to WPA encryption and WOO HOO, What a Difference.

Just something you may want to check.

I downloaded it and installed it. My friend got the Spawn guy. He can see me as master chief but I can't see him as Spawn so we downloaded both the Spawn and Master Chief and he can see me as MC, but I cant see him as either MC or Spawn.

I don'y know why the big complains: choose a server with low ping (go on pick a server with high ping in warhawk too and you will see that Warhawk is unplayable too) and do not use that quickmatch option ... And the graphics are gr8 and smooth. I'm sorry but I have a PS3 exactly for that reason that I don't invest a fortune every 6th month to upgrade my PC ... I thing UT3 on the PS3 is really great expreience if you know what to search, how to search, where to search etc ...
