Weezer headlines Gran Turismo 5 Prologue soundtrack

The official Gran Turismo 5 Prologue soundtrack features a nice blend of indie dance rock, electronica, classic rock and brand new remixes from artists, such as Weezer, Mars Volta and DJ Shadow, and more. A brand new exclusive remix of Weezer's "Automatic" headlines the game's diverse soundtrack.

"The Gran Turismo 5 Prologue soundtrack gives fans the perfect audio accompaniment to high-octane racing from Daytona to Eiger Nordwand," said Jeff Reese, director, software marketing, SCEA in a recent press release. "The edgy variety of music complements the pure adrenaline rush fans experience as they eclipse 200 miles-per-hour in the most authentic driving simulator around."

So, Europe won't be getting these songs then?

Once again, we are screwed over by Sony, especially as at least one of those bands "exclusive to the North American release" is European.

That's just a slap in the face. Those tracks have to come with the European version as well otherwise that's just ridiculous.

I would love to see this "N.-A. exclusive songs" in the EU version. DJ Shadow is cool. SebastiAn is French and so is Kavinsky. The rest I don't know :p

I like some of the bands here and I appreciate the tine and effort of putting the list together.. but aren't we at that point that every game like this should give us the ability to play our own music??

I'm surprised Cake's "He's Going the Distance" song isn't in here, it's a perfect song for any racing game, especially when you're making 10 laps of the Nurburgring or another huge track.

Never expected Weezer to "headline" a racing game's soundtrack.

And Klaxons not being on EU soundtrack when they are an English band!?! wierd.

Here's hoping the sound track will launch some good unknown bands into the lime light like Feeder were with the first Gran Turismo!

I just have to say it: the GT franchise has had the worst video game music. I love the series to death but ugh, the music selection is so bad it holds the distinction of being the only game music I've ever turned off. For each and every iteration, GT1-GT4.

As a point of reference, I thought the SSX3 soundtrack was the pinnacle.

Anyway, I'll give the tunes a listen when I first play, but I fully expect to turn it off after a couple (or 1) listens.

I agree. You would think with the amount of money this game brings in they could afford something better than remixes and orchestra music. I mean, if youre gonna put that in there, why not throw in some grocery store "musak" or whatever its called

My brother just bought the prolouge ,, the games great some of the music is pretty cool to,,, but there is one track in particular i need ta find the name of ,, can i (for all the technology that exists today) find it ? quite simply not on your nelly!! you'd think that the artists involved would insist on the noteriaty, here i am with hard cash ready to down load a tune but alas i cannot for the life of me find the track im looking for ,,, all i can tell ya is it sounds like the girl singing says somthing like "lets rock these plain wide fools" or something like that ,, basically and personally i think the track will do very well if only the makers of the game would supply us with a comprehensive list of the featured tracks,, and yes i looked on the game insert ,,, so if anyone reading has the knowlege i seek i'd be very gratefull for your wisdom,,,MK1
