SOCOM Confrontation: 9/16, community site tomorrow

SOCOM Confrontation is coming in September. At least, according to a recent update by 1UP. The popular tactical shooter will make its debut on the PS3 as both a downloadable and Blu-ray title. Tomorrow, SOCOM.com will be launched, and will provide regular updates for fans as they await the official release of Slant Six's shooter. Hopefully, it won't be too long before everyone's favorite four letter word will be echoed through the interwebs: b-e-t-a.

Dammit Sony! LBP, Resistance 2 , Killzone, FFXIII and now SOCOM? I'm gonna be broke by the end of the year XD

I expect it to have account linking like the killzone.com website has, and hopefully KZ2 will also have the online connectability for stats and such like Confrontation will.

um... Metal Gear Online has a public beta...

home and LBP also have betas but they aren't public.

Cross platform betas are the hard part/ expensive. and even they can be done, it's just that xbl allows developers to monitor things better than the psn does.

April - GTA
May - Haze
July - MGS and HOME??
August - or maybe Home??
September - KZ2 LBP and Socom
October - ??
November - Resistance 2
Dec - ??

Maybe move Socom to August to get a bit of space.

Most of those games will last me a month or so. Especially GTA IV and MGS4... September will stroll along as if it were only a week.

Then I'll have to open my wallet AGAIN.

Geeze Sony, Ya made me proud *Thumbs up* Good to be a PS3 gamer in 2008 I say!

And whats best, 2009 is being planned as a great year as well!....

@Da: How is my comment idiotic. I mean Sony wants to make money of their games. Theres a whole methodology to the placement of games. Publishers dont want their games to coincide with other big release titles as their's will be ignored. Sony might be relying on the socom name but compared to the hype of LBP and KZ2, dont you think it might get dwarfed out. I actually meant October instead of August. Would give it self some room and set up November as the Resistance versus Gears. Anyways its good to be a sony gamer and Im sure going to buy all that including the socom headset.

There aren't many who would disagree regarding the PS3's lineup this year. Think about it, the games we're excited about are big games that are exclusive to our system, but that's not even including third party games. What a lineup of exclusivity: MGS4, Gran Turismo, Motorstorm 2, Resistance 2, LittleBigPlanet, Socom, and potentially Killzone 2. Yes, I wrote 'potentially', because deep down a piece of me thinks Killzone won't see '08. As far as FFXIII, it might as well be Killzone 3. But whether those games make it or not, the Lineup is still impeccable...and it just makes '09 even stronger.

i can't believe it......yes i've been waiting for the upgrade.... ive been a diehard fan and have actually converted over a few others to buy the game and i can say without a doubt that this is my favorite series without a doubt......I'm extremely excited to see this game......just am hoping that the online isn't like Rainbow Six Vegas 2......real laggy.....but they have always done a good job on that....can't wait.....
