Call of Duty 4 DLC is coming in late April

Now those extra three weeks shouldn't be too hard to stomach, right? After all, shouldn't you be used to this kind of treatment by now? In any case, it won't be difficult to make enough money in time to purchase the variety pack; it'll only cost a measly US$10. For those who are not aware of what's inside this DLC update, let it now be known that it's comprised of four maps: Creek, Broadcast, Killhouse, and Chinatown.

I would buy this...but seeing as how GTA IV is coming out 5 days later, i won't be playing COD4 much then.

It's absolutely appalling the way PS3 customers get treated compared to the Xbox 360, and I e-mailed Infinity Ward to let them know just how I feel. I for one won't be wasting any more money on their products, and besides, they are fools in thinking people will still be happy with this news and actually pay for the DLC when something else will be out that week :^)

I have both systems so waiting is usually never a problem for me so I feel your pain. Although if you actually think that the majority of users will take your stance and quit buying their products your nuts, and your also giving up on the best game on PS3.
Your best bet is to just take it the treatment you get and enjoy a good game.

10$ for a few maps, outrageous stuff. It will be on the PC for free sooner or later. Sadly console gamers seem to be so gullible.
Hats off to Epic though, 3 free maps. Glad to see Sony allowed them to put these up for free.

people will pay. for one its only 10$ and by now some of those maps are really annoying. i personally hate the one with the 2 buildings across from each other. nevertheless how many people buy it will probably depend on how good gta's multiplayer is.
i will say infinity ward is very dumb to release it so close to GTA because regardless of multiplayer being good or not in GTA for the next month or so people will be playing GTA then comes MG4. they really dropped the ball on this one

I'll still be buying the new maps, but I was really hoping of playing the new maps throughout April until GT5 prologue and GTA4 came out. But now that the maps are being released at the same time as those two, I won't have much time to enjoy them. Oh well.

Late or not, at least its coming. I feel the frustration for having to wait, but it's been a known fact that the PS3 is harder to develop for. Just like a lot of things in life, those who encounter the difficult route and endure through it, is rewarded in the end. Simpler doesn't make it better, same things can be said to the more complex, but it's no excuse not to make an effort.

I think you North Americans have tilted image about what waiting is all about. For instance the Oblivion expansion pack/DLC which came out in the US some Months ago is still not out over here. So if you think 3 weeks is painful then I suggest you try living over here for a while, it will teach you the virtue of patience and easy your way towards achieving Zen.

So PSN gets the update 3 weeks after XBox Live (sucks), which means it'll be at least another week or two AFTER that before European PSN gets it (double sucks). By then I hope to be deep in GTA IV so this'll probably have to wait...

I don't understand this update...
there are like 15-20 maps in the game already, and because you can't choose your own game. I STILL have not seen about 6 of them. Apparently there is a map where you play on the ship from the beginning of the game...never seen it. Will we buy these maps and they just get thrown into that list? will I spend my money only to be forced into backlot or pipeline or overgrown over and over and over again?

Trust me, you don't wanna play on the ship. That map gets voted out 90% of the time if you're playing Domination or Sabotage. Maybe FFA and Team Deathmatch people play it but nobody else does. There are 3 maps that are constantly skipped, especially by clanners.

Oh well, can't say that I'm all that fussed about the release date. Yeah, I suppose that it could have been sooner but honestly, what's all the fuss about. They're coming. Just play the other maps till the new ones come out - simple innit. What use is moaning going to do about it. BORING. Just make do with what ya got at the moment, then be pleased when the new stuff comes out. We've all managed with the current maps since the game's been released so a few weeks extra aint gonna kill you.
Ohhhhh the PS3 owners get shat on cuz the x-box ones come out earlier - DEAL WITH IT, if it's that flippin important then get yourself an x-box.
I'm happy with my PS3, and I can live without the new maps for 3 weeks.

i really dont mind waiting for this. I wasnt planning on getting GTA anyways. I dont think its a dev issue though. It seems as an xbox timed exclusive deal for DLC, but its ok because xbox blows.

I definitely think that they are making a mistake by releasing the pack this late, Haze and GTA4 will be so close to be out, I will refuse to pay this price for 4 more maps, let alone it will probably be 13 dollars or something like that in Canadian funds.

How about this notion: the 360 version of COD4 has been constantly been selling very well so it only makes sense to release the map packs on your most profitable platform first and then the PS3 down the road. It's no secret that the 360 has a larger installed base so there are more people to potentially buy IWs DLC than on the PS3.

Think about it. Would you guys rather pay to pay online and get the maps earlier or pay absolutely nothing and get the same maps and online experience (minus acheivements) but 3 weeks later? Overall the PS3 is getting the short end of the stick because we don't pay for the same basic service as XBox 360.

at least i'll be able to download the new maps fairly quickly in a months time when i even consider playing a game thats not GTA4. love COD dont get me wrong and i will have to play Creek and Broadcast at some point but ive spoken to a couple of games testers from Rockstar and it sounds like i could be playing this game for sometime. and then there is MGS in June( i swear if they dont sort out this Konami ID crisis ill go mad).
oh and btw, is there going to be a double xp weekend on ps3, i would be keen for that (sucker)
