Warhawk patch v1.3 coming tomorrow

Warhawk servers will be experiencing downtime between 10am and 4pm GMT (6am and 12pm EST) after which the patch will be made available to download. Why should you be interested? Don't tell us you've forgotten all the cool stuff v1.3 adds. Along with the two new melee weapons, there will be more vehicle paintjobs and insignias. Not to mention the bizarrely early Home launching feature. Bizarrely early? Or is it?

Actually that trailer in the "cool stuff v1.3 adds" link clearly says at the end that it comes out 04/02/08, which is tomorrow. This has been known for a while now. Oh well. I'm still very excited.
frankym @ Apr 1st 2008 6:45PM
Will there be rumble support?
Meximan @ Apr 4th 2008 3:49PM
Rumble support was already added in v1.2 And what does it matter? The dualshock3 hasn't even come out yet (in North America at least)
Justin @ Apr 1st 2008 7:05PM
Warhawk has had rumble support all along O_o
massive_98 @ Apr 1st 2008 6:48PM
I'm pretty excited about this.
zyxwiley @ Apr 1st 2008 6:55PM
EST is -4 GMT right now, not -5 GMT. So the above should read:
"Warhawk servers will be experiencing downtime between 10am and 4pm GMT (6am and 12pm EST)."
I'm going to go back to eating my potato chips (sorry, 'crisps').
daniel @ Apr 2nd 2008 12:59PM
Thats wrong actually here in the UK, we have changed our timesone to BST, british summer time. Which is +1. GMT, grenich mean time has not changed.
kevin @ Apr 1st 2008 6:58PM
this better not be a lame april fools prank
Justin @ Apr 1st 2008 7:06PM
Nope, it was the date on the patch v1.3 trailer!
godlovesugly @ Apr 1st 2008 7:11PM
"Not to mention the bizarrely early Home launching feature."
What!? someone explain?
John @ Apr 1st 2008 9:51PM
"Not to mention the bizarrely early Home launching feature."
I agree. What the hell is that supposed to mean.
VeganTnT @ Apr 1st 2008 11:22PM
Patch 1.3 has all the HOME enabled features of warhawk.
If you and all your buddies are together in HOME you can pull out your virtual psp and launch a game of warhawk. Your game will appear in warhawk in gold color showing you launched from home, and all your buddies will have warhawk automatically started and join you.
lots of other goodies too
check out the story Kotaku did on it

When I sit there for over 10 minutes trying to join a game regardless of how many people are in there and it doenst work, and then when you do everyone is just doing their own thing, where is the fun? I use to love the game, but paying for this patch? Thanks, but no thanks.
SQUIRTFORCE @ Apr 1st 2008 7:11PM
I believe the patch is free. That new operation krystalnacht or whatever is going to cost money.
Hyams @ Apr 1st 2008 7:10PM
It's a free patch.
Everybody wins!
Hyams @ Apr 1st 2008 7:15PM
I'm not entirely sure how you managed to turn 'Operation Broken Mirror' into 'Operation Krystalnacht', but hey, whatever floats your boat.
(Unless that is some non-English name for it, in which case I feel stupid.)
SQUIRTFORCE @ Apr 1st 2008 7:23PM
It means broken glass in German. Close enough?
Stevie @ Apr 1st 2008 10:36PM
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kristallnacht
NOT COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hyams @ Apr 1st 2008 7:24PM
Well, I'm currently feeling stupid, so I'd say so. ^_^
Skippy @ Apr 1st 2008 7:32PM
10 minutes trying to join a game?!? Something is wrong with your connection or something. Once I choose to join a game (assuming it's not full), I'm in there playing in 30 seconds or less (basically however long it takes to load the level)
horowitz @ Apr 2nd 2008 6:10AM
kristalnacht means the night of glass. It refers to the night (before WWII) when the Germans went around and broke into all the jewish stores. I'm pretty sure thats not its German translation :P
never$$hort @ Apr 2nd 2008 2:11PM
patch is free dummy
Blaze463 @ Apr 1st 2008 7:13PM
No, this is not the first you've heard of it. You did not only know that it was coming in "early april". You guys did a damn article about being on April 2nd a long time ago I believe...or it was PSU idk but either way you sound ridiculous when you question the reminder.
SQUIRTFORCE @ Apr 1st 2008 7:16PM
Now who sounds ridiculous?
SnipersParadise @ Apr 2nd 2008 6:08AM
The game rocks, but the ppl that play it can some times ruin the fun. I will buy the patch, but ppl have to be more sporty and willing to have a good time, not yell in your ears of how good they are. All my friend have stopped playing this since players just get bossed around, or they start the game and have no idea what there doing. Instead of calling ppl noobs, help them, stay with them and assist 'em they'll learn. I'd buy the patch as soon as it comes for that reason, its a lot funner when everyone learns together. I think that when you earn points it should count immediately since a lot of servers cut you out before you even finish the game. All your hard work is gone, they need to find a way to patch this.
Kodros @ Apr 2nd 2008 5:38PM
The patch is free and there are assholes in every game =)
kentuckyfried @ Apr 1st 2008 8:25PM
COD4, ftw! =D
I've not touched Warhawk for more than 10 minutes...yet.
SSG @ Apr 1st 2008 8:40PM
i would play this game more often if a didnt suck at it so much. i keep on getting stabbed in the back every time i walk outside... when i get in a plane i get shot down... and every time i drive a vehicle i gets blowd up... i will give it another shot though, that wrench looks like a deadly weapon...
Hyams @ Apr 1st 2008 9:03PM
Team Deathmatches are best for people new to the game, in my opinion. Join small games (12 people or less), as they tend to have a slower pace and don't end with you getting killed the second you spawn.
Staying out the planes for the time being. Stick to being on foot and ground vehicles. Missle turrets are also very good for newbies.
Make sure you've always got a machine gun on you, and always keep it fully reloaded. If you appear to be losing a firefight with someone, chuck a few grenade at them and pray.
Missle loauncher (don't forget to hold down R1 whilst it looks on) is very good for shooting down warhawks. 2 hits and they blow.
Flamethrower is good for close combat, and can rip apart anything (even a tank) in a matter of seconds.
Tanks are very easy to use. Drive into middle of enemy and just blow 'em apart. Just watch out for other tanks, people with flamethrowers, and the occasional Warhawk.
^_^
zyxwiley @ Apr 1st 2008 9:09PM
Try playing a small (less than 8 players), unranked map. That's the easiest way to start picking things up, imho.
emaxximus @ Apr 1st 2008 9:15PM
I know what you mean, SSG. I get frustrated as hell at that game because I suck, and because I am new to it. I know I will never be very good at it, because I am a mediocre gamer at best no matter how much I practice. My best experience so far is just running around with the missle launcher waiting for enemy planes to fly over. and on a side note.. why does it seem like one missle will blow ME up in a plane, when I have to hit the other planes like 2-4 times to blow them up? Oh well.
chiki @ Apr 1st 2008 10:00PM
wrong. CTF is the best for new players. I always see new players and take advantage of their newbness. I drive the tank, while the newbie sits through the hatch rocket-launching the planes. I have a mic, communication and shadowing a seasoned player means they will pick up quick. They grow up so fast D*:
Quest3 @ Apr 1st 2008 10:41PM
Warhawk is an amazing game, I have played around 220 hrs for that game, it's very very addictive. It's true that it has a steep learning curve. If you are new, just go to level 1 servers, and avoid level 4 servers (where the veterans feed on the n00bs).
VeganTnT @ Apr 1st 2008 11:30PM
It's true. I can recall a few times on CTF when I stop what I'm doing because I see a Recruit or Airman rank on a tier 4 server... that's like asking to be gutted.
vegi-saurus @ Apr 1st 2008 11:58PM
Yes, never go on a ranked level server that is not your level! Start at level 1 and go up from there. Not that i hate noobs but i really hate it when i end up being the top player on the losing team full of noobs on level 3/4 servers.
Daniel @ Apr 1st 2008 11:26PM
Can't wait for this patch...sounds awesome!
gw @ Apr 2nd 2008 6:33AM
SnipersParadise i agree i hate it when ppl online think they are in charge of you, but every one buys the game so whos to say there in charge. ask for help fine but dont tell ppl what to do, and think the ppl who do that shud have there names posted somewere and every one can avoid them.
then they can play with them selfs lol
SlartieB @ Apr 2nd 2008 10:59AM
Hi,
Its UP, the patch and its downloading. 55Mb.
Have fun!
AVERIO @ Apr 2nd 2008 11:03AM
when I downloaded this update this morning on to my 60gig ps3 it says that it can not connect to the server and to check my internet connections, and every other game works perfectly online. does anyone know what is going on????
