Are you sure you want more Haze media?
Free Radical's long awaited might-be-but-probably-isn't-going-to-be-exclusive Haze is finally getting closer. But, after watching this gameplay montage, do you really want it? The lackluster environments, animation and graphics do little to showcase the PS3's true capabilities. Perhaps the ambitious multiplayer gameplay will do more than justify the rather lifeless visuals of this FPS. You be the judge: check it out in HD.

Games aren't always only about graphics, so yes, I trust FRD, and I'm still picking this up.
If it sucks, I'll be much more cautious with the next TimeSplitters game.

This is suppose to be the february build I believe, so the real one should be better. The real thing that got me interested is the seamless co-op campaign.

Wow. The graphics really are lifeless. I've seen more texture variety in Half Life 1 deathmatch games. Polygon count looks about the same too...with 4 sided pointy rocks, very square buildings.
3 years for this. I bet the devs never wanted to make this game to start with.

That's exactly what I was thinking.. maybe they were too deep in the development cycle and decided to just go on with it. Oh well, hope the gameplay will atleast be fun.

Reminds me ALOT of Halo, only even Halo is better, the thing is though I seen this game a thousand times before, they have brought nothing new to the FPS game as promised, I seen everything in this game in Halo, Resistance and many more, when I first heard about it and saw the first trailer I wanted it, anything after that has just put me off, way to kill your game Free Radical.

I saw these vids last night and I thought they looked horrible. Now my suspicions have been reaffirmed. This game will be terrible. I think I'll be just fine with GTAIV and MGS4.

I don't know Fenix you were the one raving about how fun dark sector was even though it did not look that great. Dark Sector is a total rip off of Resident Evil 4 over the shoulder view + Gears Of War controls. I splurged and purchased it about 2-3 days ago and I am regretting it now as the game has no legs IMO. My point is you need to apply the same logic to this game as you do Dark Sector. Lets wait until we actually play the game before writing it off completely. I will admit that I think the game looks more like warhawk than it does Halo 3 but it certainly looks fun and the physics were dead on in the video Noshino posted where the two trucks were on top of each other. I hope my buddy who works at Game Stop will let me trade in Dark Sector for full value so I can just go ahead and pre-pay for GTA IV. If not I might take advantage of the extra 20% trade in value going on this week when you trade anything towards Mario Kart Wii. I thought Halo 3 was one of the most over hyped games of all time and its way to slow for a FPS. Lets give Haze a chance before we just go on and piss on its unborn "dead" corpse. I know you loathe the PS3 and all but apply the same logic to the PS3 that you do to 360 games.
I was really not interested in this game until I started watching some of the game videos and the gameplay + co-op mechanics really excite me and I think I will probably end up getting it so I can play with my friends who all have PS3s. Anyway, with GTA IV, MGS:4 & Mario kart Wii all on the way I may not have time or money for Haze at launch. Also cant wait for Disgaea 3 on PS3 and Valykrie of the battlefield... ANd for heavens sakes I still have to finish up the MGS essentials collection I recently bought along with Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, FFVII Crisis Core, MLB 08, Hot SHots Golf Out Of Bounds, Condemned & Okamii. Not to mention I also ecently picked up God Of War Chains Of Olympus (must have!), Patapon, Jeanne D'Arc, Army Of Two (underrated) and the craptastic Dark Sector....
I went a bit crazy with the tax return money ... Trying to curb my games but I can't see passing up on GT:Prologue, GTA IV, MGS 4 & mario kart Wii ... As I said just need to get Dark Sector returned and I will be in business!
Moral Oral says don't judge Haze until you played it yourself!

you are comparing 2 different beasts.
You are comparing Halo 3 multiplayer with Haze co-op....
IMO everything looks better in Haze (Hell, even that vehicle can carry 4 people, and I think that 2 can shoot at the same time) aside from the fact that Halo brightness....but then again, they are in war, not in rainbowland

We don't know how further in development that gameplay video is, so yah, it might or might not be better than that.
But one thing is for sure, if co-op looks as fun as that (I like the part in which the vehicle is trapped in between 2 others), then online multiplayer will be much more fun....!

Yeah honestly, i hate halo 3 and would love to diss the shit out of it. I play it with my friends Xbox on my 40" 1080p via hdmi.
I say Halo 3 MP and Story have B.E.Autiful graphics all around;) it does feel like rainbow land like someone said earlier though lol.
Haze looks mediocre and dissapointing, i've thought that since the first videos and still now after watching this one. the guns, the pistol especially (reminds me of goldeneye) looks stupid and your hands while they reload.

Play Halo 3 on a HDTV and not watch scaled down video clips on a monitor, it's flaws are then apparent.

Dude, be serious! I have Halo 3 and beat that cr@p outta that game. Have all 1000gp on it. Looks great on my 1080p 50in Samsung plasma. Sure its not the best looking game but it does have its moments. My point is that if you compare this vid and the vid I posted earlier then you can see for yourself unless you fanboyness has you completely blind.

How can i be a fanboy when i have a 360. The headline means nothing. It does not mention they played Haze on their setup. They are judging it on the video alone just like you, which may i add was my original argument. The quality of that Haze video is substandard and lacks fidelity and sharpness. No one can judge from the quality of video.

I'm pinning my hopes on the fact that free radical were responsible for the successful timesplitter series of games along with the goldeneye and early perfect dark games.
Sure, the guns look pants and the grenade throw animation looks plain broken. Fingers crossed the gameplay delivers.

The trailers on Kotaku look better. I'm guessing the IGN trailers will follow suit. I figure most of us will stay tuned to the review before we finally write this game off. I don't expect this game to rival Resistance 2 or Killzone (though we don't know how's it stacking up these days either), but I do think it'll be solid. Time will tell. I'm still keeping my eye on it.

Looks like another shooter with some little perks to add a twist to the same old FPS formula... I'll take a closer look and decide once and for all, but I might just keep playing COD4 while waiting for R2 and KZ2!

Reading these comments I wonder what people are on about. All FPS games are essentially the same, you run around and shot at stuff. What makes Haze special is to many of its competitors is two things. One is that the two sides are not symmetric, which makes games balancing very hard, but it is at least an attempt at doing something new. The second is their very nice co-op features which seems to be top of the crop atm.
And while the graphics might not overwhelm us with their greatness they are absolutely good enough to not be held against the game.

Judging a game that is still more than two months away by how its graphics look is completely insain. It looks like a really fun FPS and considering that there won't be a good shooter coming out until fall (Killzone, resistance and Far Cry) this will be a great buy for this summer.

Halo3 Doesn't have that great of Graphics but it is fun and has Co-op.
The 4 Player Split Screen Co-Op is what has me most interested in this Game (Some of us Have Real Friends). Most of the Videos I have seen look pretty good and the Gameplay looks like it will be fun. Count me In.

I don't even know why people mentioned Halo 3 as a comparison, it too was severely overrated. The bar is COD4. Its the game that I compare any FPS experience to, so if it doesn't at least meet COD4 in graphics and overall fun factor, I won't even waste my time. I bought Assassins Creed, Rock Band, COD4, and Uncharted all around the same time and started AC first, then COD4 single player, then UC. I never finished AC or UC. Why you ask? Because I couldn't pull myself away from Rock Band and COD4 multiplayer. So before I buy ANY game it begs the questions: Will this pull me off of COD4? Do I need this game b4 I finish UC and AC? WOuld I be better orr downloading Omega Dawn and the ne wWarhawk pack (because Warhawk was TOO a casualty to COD4).
So as you can see, for me it takes a lot to get me to spring for a new. Needless to say, GTA4 will pull me off of COD4 for a while, and if the multiplayer is any good, possibly forever, or at least until MGS drops.
Long story short, no this game doesn't (and has never) peaked my interest, and this video doesn't help. Funfactor speaks volumes, thats why Warhawk is a beast. But if COD4 can offer me the best of both worlds, I need a reason to jump, especially to another FPS. And Resistance 2 and KZ will be out soon enough, hell I've waited THIS long...

Free Radical wanted this to be a 360 game.... its just that they know it wouldn't have stood a change by the great name of Halo 3 (trust me...that games' name is what sold it, cause Halo 3 is striaght up sh!t....colourful sh!t at that). HAZE resembles Halo alot and is easily agreeable that it is the PS3 version of Halo. Its a reason why they its not certain if its exclusive or not. This will be right up 360fangirls ally, but from the vids I am not excited about this game at all anymore. COD4 has raised the bar too high, and have spoiled us next-gen gamers. I will pass on this and wait for Resistance 2. I thought it was just me who thought that the granade toss animation was craptacular lol...oh well.

Ok so here is the complete horde of graphics nazis!!! Heck I think UT2004 is the shit and is not so next-gen. heck I was playing C:SoTN and it rules. beat it again at 200% and agacin as Richter and Lucky. Still rules. And not super duper graphics. Now if they have fun stuff to do with the HAAAAZZE then i will play it. Then again, I got GTA4, CoD4, UT3, MGS4, SOCOM, WipeOutHD and Resistance to worry about!!!

Please tell me you're not judging graphics by an OVERCOMPRESSED GameTrailers video. The recent screens show off the game's great texture detail and even better lighting and particle effects, I think they make themselves pretty well known even in those vids.
The sharpshooting in the vids looks excellent in the vids too, just some cackhanded rifle shooting (whoever's playing probably hasn't got used to shooting while running yet) I really can't see what the complaining is about and this story.. crap and 100% trollbait.
I hope Andrew Yoon is very embarrassed when this releases and is ACTUALLY FUN.
