Def Leppard confirmed for the Guitar Hero after next
It seems entirely bizarre to us that we're talking about not only the next Guitar Hero but the Guitar Hero after that - both of which are due out this year. Especially when you consider that the tracklists for the two games probably won't come close to the content available on the Rock Band platform by the time they're both out. Regardless, it seems that after we're done with Guitar Hero: Aerosmith (otherwise known as DLC-on-a-disc) we can look forward to rocking out the legends that are Def Leppard on Guitar Hero IV.
This news was leaked out by the band members during a radio interview and has yet to be confirmed by either Activision or Neversoft. The tracks that will be included are said to be "Photograph", "Animal" and "Rock of Ages". We're excited to see this awesome band's music finally hit rhythm games, but we'd have preferred to see them in Rock Band. If only so we could practice drumming one handed.

Fixed.

I'd rather see some Def Leppard songs for Rock Band.. But they'd need to figure out a way to force you to play single-handedly when drumming.

Bah, that was in the article, I didn't even read it all.

...sigh. That's how Activision has to play it. They have to give these bands pretty much their own game so that they don't sign on to Rock Band. Also, for some reason, Guitar Hero's DLC is priced more than Rock Band's and comes out far less frequently even though it probably takes more work to make a Rock Band track. I'm not sure where I'm going with that but my main point is Guitar Hero should stop getting in the way of progress. Seriously, anyone who's played Rock Band will agree that continuing Guitar Hero is just a step backwards. I mean, I'd play the worst song on Rock Band with a full band before I'd play Guitar Hero's best track. ...Actually that's not true; I really, really hate Sabotage.

Last week called. It wants its news back.

I'd give my left arm to be Def Leppard's drummer!

Jem, if you're talking about the Guitar Hero AFTER the next...
Then it should be - Guitar Hero V*
Not Guitar Hero IV :)

I don't get it, does that mean there's a whole Guitar Hero dedicated to Def Leppard like Aerosmith or are there just going to be a few Def Leppard songs on the next to next Guitar Hero number iteration? Either way , I love Def Leppard so this might be a reason to pick up Guitar Hero again :)
