MGS4 trailer is the end of heroes

Metal Gear Solid 4 isn't too far away, is it? The latest trailer is surprisingly brief, especially in light of the series' almost-notorious reputation for lengthy previews. Beautiful and cinematic, this trailer continues reminding us that this might very well be the end.

Doesn't the video seem cut-off? There should be more to it there. It ends rather abruptly.

I think it's GT's own made up trailer with past scenes and stuff.
And they just kinda... edited it and made it their own?
Because all of those quotes (some of the best) have been shown and... I dunno maybe it was just a showcase of the best of the best? No idea, but it's still hell as awesome =).

Funny you say that, guys. Thing is, first place I saw this trailer was on Gamestop's online store listing. Might account for why the sound quality is arse and all, nabbing it from their site and whatnot.

Yea, Canada got Crisis Core, and God of War: CoO, and Patapon for PSP all two days late. But hey, at least EB Games was giving away free Kratos action figures with every GoW purchase.

Err it does seem cut off at the end. Maybe that's not the full thing?
I've only played the metal gear solid for ps1, can't remember what it was, but this seems really good and i'll probably get it.
Might have to read up on a summary of the whole story first though...

This video just reminds me how big a fan I am of this series. A lot of games copy other games. Some define themselves. Metal Gear is one of those games. The intelligence, character and level design, and the storyline in this series is something unseen in gaming to date. When I think of the experiences I had in Metal Gear Solid on the PS1, facing off against Sniper Wolf and Psycho Mantis, then onto Vamp and Solidus on PS2, then the themes of MGS3. No game has touched on the complex themes/topics, produced the characters, provided the gameplay, and spanned it over several games, over several machines. I believe it really is one of the greatest games ever created regardless of platform. And once its over, I don't see anything taking its place. I don't even see anything emulating it. Kojima's games all have unique appeal that kind of separate him from the mainstream. Once Kojima is done with gaming who will carry the torch?

Very well said. I just want to add the points of innovative gameplay and breaking the fourth wall. Also how the strongest points of the series (and even the weakest) help to pull it together.
Also, if this is a true triler put together by Kojima Productions or Konami, this might be a first look at a TV spot. Good length and obviously aimed at a wider audience than MGS fans, particuarly with eryl withholding Snake's name at the end of her line and the audio advertisement for the Preying Mantis Corporation - with a similar acronym to Private Military Corporation... interesting. These traler's keep giving me more questions to ask.
