Deal of the Day: The Simpsons Game for $30

The Simpsons is one of television's best and longest running cartoon comedies. While the show is a true pop culture classic, the videogames on the other hand are not so memorable. While not stunning, most Simpsons games were actually all right ... with the exception of the horrendous Virtual Bart back on the Genesis. The latest in Simpson sims simply titled: The Simpsons Game, is not a bad addition to the lot. For 30 bucks, it's a not a bad deal either. Might be worth picking up.

This is probably the greatest Simpsons game I've played. It makes fun of it's own wonky camera and sub-par controls, and the way that Simpsons merchandise has spread faster than AIDS.

The voice acting is good as you'd expect from the Simpsons cast, and the script is great, this game is worth it for the commentary on video games and the parodies.

This was definitely a decent title, a few control issues but it was funnier than most episodes of the show have been for years now.

lol wow i remember virtual bart! that game was amazing! you got to choose different "minigames" to play, of which most were pretty decent. my favorite was the one where you had to throw tomatoes at the students passing by to cross them off the class photo. you even got to hit principal skinner while he bent over to tie his shoes. classic game!

Yeah the Simpsons are nothing but predictable now. I remember about a decade ago when things surprised me on the show. And back then it was funny.

Did anyone else get stuck in the demo?? I could not for the life of me get past that freakin robot!! it was sooo frustrating and I really wanted to like it but the irritation won that battle and I just gave up ...

You have to distract it with Homer and have Bart hit it in the back with a slingshot shot (do it from a rooftop). Then, a trapdoor will open on its butt, and you have to fly down and do the context sensitive move. Rinse, repeat.

It's kind of a shame that they used this level to showcase the game, because it it kind of hard and the camera is a little unwieldy. If you played from the beginning though, you should have the controls and everything down by the time you get to this level.

Just for reference I'm pretty sure it's on sale this week at Circuit City for $30. So it's not that great a deal. Plus I played the demo for this one and I've got the DS version and I was surprised to discover I liked the DS version a lot more.

did u really think virual bart, one of the only REALLY GOOD if not the best simpons game ever was the rotten apple of the bunch.... wow dude i'll be sure to never ever listen to ur opinion ever again but apparently its crap...
