Let Grace Chen walk you through the PSN Store redesign

Screenshots are all very well, but we've been waiting and waiting to see the PSN Store redesign in all its full-motion glory. Well, the time has come. Instead of a Store release post (there won't be one today, remember?) Grace Chen has stepped in front of a camera in order to show off the redesign to us. Thankfully, it looks fantastic. Complete with SingStar-esque fades between pages.

Some of these features are more than we'd ever have anticipated. Being able to see every piece of content, whether it's a demo, wallpaper, theme or add-on pack for each particular game is excellent -- as are the pop-up and full screen preview videos. Finally, it's nice to see that the Store will no longer shrink when you buy content, instead a wee shopping bag will let you know that you've already bought it. Great. We can't wait to get our hands on the new Store when it's released on April 15th.

Looks awesome! Though wished the xmb wave moved. Meh its just aesthetics but would be nice to see though this is still a prototype.

so all those weeks when there was no content on the SONY store when devs said they had turned in the demos weeks before it was all Grace Chen's fault. So now we know who to blame when there is nothing but one trailer for the store update. lol!

This update doesn't bring much to the table... it looks nicer... and that's it. All the same features otherwise....

....can't we even get a search option?

A search function isn't necessary at all this way. You can search by letter and by genre. Just as easy.

I'm hoping that now I'll have th option to have the store in English, even though I'm located in The Netherlands. I mean, it can't be that hard can it? I can have it that way on xbox live after all.

Actually what do you think makes xbox live so much better exactly? Is it move and music downloads maybe? My pc does all that for free, and strames it to the ps3. As far as I see there is no major advantage that xbox live has. Nothing on it screams "i really need that on PSN"...to be honest, after HOME and In-Game XMB is released, there will be nothing really fantastic about live that the PS3 or PSN won't be doing as well. If you are saying it because our store was redesigned, well it may have been a little hard to navigate but it didnt stop me from buying games now did it? Its not a huge deal to me if the store looks and works well or not, as long as it works...I spend most of my time playing media and games, but hanging around in the store buying it. If you like live so much why have a PS3 at all then? jeez... as far as I see it, since the PS3 has launched it has been quickly making improvements and catching up with features. Soon it will have just as many features or more so what does it really matter?
