MGS4 Gun Metal PS3 bundle coming to North America

This one is a delightful surprise. While we've been ogling over the Limited Edition packaging of Metal Gear Solid 4, PlayStation.Blog confirms that the Gun Metal Limited Edition bundle will be heading to North America as well. The site wrote, "We are confirming that there will be a North America offering of this very, very Limited Edition bundle!" The Gun Metal PS3 bundle is the very same one that quickly sold out over at Konami's Japanese site. Further details such as price have not been revealed.

Well there you have it folks. You now have four ways of splurging on MGS4. Which way are you going? Standard, limited, bundle, limited bundle? Why not all!

Ok, slightly off-topic question here. I can't find an 80gb PS3 anywhere, not amazon, not best buy, not gamestop. only ebay for over 600 bucks it seems. I don't keep up with gaming news much, so i'm assuming they're discontinued. Does this mean that I can't buy an 80gb PS3 until this bundle comes out? It's an awesome deal but having to wait 2 months for it sucks, I was hoping to have a PS3 before GTAIV dropped. Oh well, just have to wait or hope and pray for a GTAIV 80gb bundle.

You are correct on it being discontinued. GTA bundle MAY be 80gb. I think somewhere it said the MGS4 bundle may be backwards compatible... I hope it is.

I pre-ordered the limited edition because I heard the MGS PS3 bundle only had that standard edition. Now that the Gunmetal PS3 is coming I'll do everything I can to get it.

If the Halo 360 came with a game I would have bought that when it was available, good thing I held on to my money.

Shoulda went to costco when the halo system came out. Got the halo console, limited edition game, and a halo controller with the mini masterchief figure. Hope they have the same thing for this, but i'm pre-ordering whereever i can just in case. Been holding out for a ps3 just for this game.

Now see I probably would have, especially since I go to cosco a lot. I never saw it so I guess it's too bad, I still mostly play it at my friend's apartment though, so I wouldn't get much use out of it.

You know, I've been trying really hard to be the last person on the planet with a 20GB launch PS3, but this coming to North America is making it REALLY hard not to sell my 20GB and save up for it.

I think it looks awesome and would have bought it over the fingerprint and dust collecting glossy black if I had a choice at launch. Don't get me wrong, the glossy black looks great too, but this new colour looks badass.

Im buying this. this is what i have been waiting for. i was going to try to get a ps3 before the mgo beta but i would gladly wait just for this bundle. ( i hope it is backwards compatible) !!!!!

I would do anything in my power to get this if the PS3 was of the 60GB variety with hardware backwards compatibility, but I highly doubt that's going to be the case, so I'm unfortunately going to have to pass this beautiful device up.. =(

Hmmm...you might want to rethink that, and try for this.
Unless I'm mistaken, the 80GB units (which this is) are BC.
So, you'd be getting the BC you wanted, along with 20GB more storage....
oh, and yeah...in this Limited Edition package. Not too shabby.

Ok waitwait,so the GunMetal version comes with the SPECIAL EDITION version of mgs 4(with all its extra content and special boxart) or is the GunMetal 80 gig ps3 with the NORMAL version of mgs4.

I've asked about this on the gamefaqs boards and people keep saying that it's just the "normal" edition of the game, not the LE.

the LE's not going to fit into a standard sized box unless they get creative. Besides, that would drive the cost up. I've never paid $85 for an LE set before.
