This poll from headquarters isn't the most exhilarating topic to be sure, but there are some people who have been crying for a PlayStation Store redesign basically since the console launched. We aren't expecting any riots to break out over this event, nor any torch-carrying flame-blasters to incite some sort of fanboy war in regards to store designs. But we've been wrong before. So we ask you, are you excited for the PlayStation Store redesign?
We'd love to hear your reasoning in the comments section -- what's bothered you about it so far? Why is the old one fine? Why not? You get the idea. If you're curious about
last week's poll, check out the results after the jump.

While the quarrel was interesting, it seems those in America have little to worry about so long as they don't mind shelling out extra cash for the
Limited Edition version of
Metal Gear Solid 4. It comes with the classic art stylings of the games past, so really, it's a moot point. Which sort of shows in the poll ... nobody really agrees. So there's something for everyone! Thanks for voting, guys and gals. Until next week!

Looks like steam.
ldd @ Apr 13th 2008 11:07PM
I never understood why the old “interface” wasn't good enough, but it's free so I can't complain.
Gunegune @ Apr 13th 2008 11:52PM
Since the new store is software based it has a faster, more fluid interface. Also, the store's new preview function allows you to view a video or screenshots of a game without leaving the store.
Those are probably the biggest advantages over the old, web-based, interface but I'm sure there will be other minor advantages.
Extinction @ Apr 14th 2008 3:27AM
The old one was software based as well. The web browser is software.
never$$hort @ Apr 14th 2008 4:15AM
The old interface was just way too slooooooooooooooooooow.. besides that, it did the job ok. I'm personally excited about the new design.
EMP420 @ Apr 13th 2008 11:11PM
It Looks So Sexy, I Cant Wait This Is Ganna Make Me Want To Go To The Store More. This Looks Better Then Xbox Live And When Home And XMB Come The Xbox360 Will Be A Thing Of The Past,
Ty @ Apr 13th 2008 11:12PM
Personally I don't get all the hype about the redesign. Maybe I have to play with it to see what the big deal is.
Ty @ Apr 14th 2008 1:51AM
There can only be 1 Ty.
Ty @ Apr 14th 2008 8:52AM
And I am he.
Kurt Zenisek @ Apr 13th 2008 11:15PM
For me, it's just a prettier interface to purchase GT5 Prologue with.
emaxximus @ Apr 13th 2008 11:17PM
I'm looking foward to the faster software based design and the video previews of stuff.
paul @ Apr 13th 2008 11:17PM

never$$hort @ Apr 14th 2008 4:16AM
don't hold your breath..
BrokenMonkey @ Apr 13th 2008 11:20PM
I didn't think the first one was very good but not because of the looks, more because of how you navigated. I was annoyed whenever I had to navigate back through every page that I looked at when I really wanted to go back to the previous menu (like if I clicked through 3 pages of Action games and I wanted to get back to the genre menu I had to click back 4 times). I don't care how it looks as long as it performs better than the old store.
JAH75157 @ Apr 13th 2008 11:22PM
not so much excited, just want to be able to navigate better.
SSG @ Apr 13th 2008 11:32PM
the old store reminded me of a hotel room movie rental service
mccomber @ Apr 13th 2008 11:44PM
The new store looks better, I just hope it's also more functional. The old store just seemed so last minute, like they realized they needed something but weren't sure what to do.
Davsot @ Apr 14th 2008 12:52AM
Why doesn't PS3Fanboy.com use the same polls as Engadget and EngadgetHD? I hate PollCode.com!
Daniel @ Apr 14th 2008 1:10AM
I can't wait for this. I absolutely hate the current set up. So hard to navigate. And the mere fact that the new one will use X to select and circle to go back will be so much easier to use.
Extinction @ Apr 14th 2008 3:29AM
"So hard to navigate."
Did you suffer a lobotomy? The old one wasn't hard at all
farfisa @ Apr 14th 2008 12:25PM
Totally have to agree with Daniel here--it can't just be me who reflexively presses the O button to go 'back,' right? You know, like everything else on the system (and no, I don't think 'back to the xmb' is what most people are thinking when they're trying to navigate the store).
Orutega @ Apr 14th 2008 2:01AM
Hey is it coming out Today Apr 14th ?
question; around what time ? I'm in Central Time, and its 1am and the update hasn't come out yet...
smkalot @ Apr 14th 2008 2:15AM

The Dark Trooper @ Apr 14th 2008 2:26AM
With comments like that, Is it any surprise that you were banned from posting comments. Remember the Fanboy Staff are People too
crayzedcrazed @ Apr 14th 2008 3:18AM
I don't really care, I would visit the store at most once a week and only for a few seconds so it didn't bother me
Popfrogs @ Apr 14th 2008 10:39AM
Yeah with a lack of content and demos there really wasn't much reason to visit it before. I'm wondering what they're going to whip out after a 2 week break, if anything.
Semi @ Apr 14th 2008 11:48AM
i dont care for store re-design, i want PS3 play AVI natively, and handle video file size bigger than 12Gig... whats the point in networking to your computer if you cant play the videos
ldd @ Apr 14th 2008 6:30PM
I was already aware of the benefits of the new store, but I just think that the main use of this service (give people access to content) was already met by the old store. The old one was good enough for me, but as I said before..if it can be better, why not?
On a side note, I've just realized that I spent too much time on this site and PSPfanboy (average of 2 hours per week).
