Star Ocean 4 scan reveals main character, scenery

Don't get us wrong -- we know Tri-Ace and Square Enix haven't listed a console for Star Ocean 4 yet, but seriously, do you think this game will be a Wii exclusive? If you thought it possible, this new magazine scan might change your mind. We're taking a leap of faith assuming this game will come to the PS3 (exclusive or not), but since all the others have ... heck, all other Tri-Ace games have, it's not a very big leap.

Now we finally see the main character, previously hidden in all those trailers. He's not very attractive and is basically a Fayt clone with blond hair. They look different enough, but it's just not a big "evolution" between protagonists. We're not being picky -- the environments in the scan are brilliant looking. We wish the view outside of our windows looked that nice.

I don't know for sure but I'm speculating this is a PS3 exclusive since it doesn't really make sense to me why they'd pack in a dvd containing the trailer of SO4 for those people in Japan that pre-ordered the SO game for the PSP.

Hmm looks like an interesting game, and i looked for it on IGN and sure enough it was listed under PS3. I also looked at Gamespot and again its listed as a PS3 game. So lets hope the rumor is right, if it is we will see another great game for the PS3.

I'm sure we'll see it on the PS3 but it won't be exclusive... if it was, they would have announce it already.

Here's hoping that it's a PS3 exclusive. There're two jrpgs out there that I would've liked to be multiplatform or PS3 exclusive but went over to 360 instead. I'm talking about Tales of Vesperia and Eternal Sonata. Now I know ES is coming to PS3 with more features later down the line, but games like these two would've done so much better if they were just for the PS3 since there's a larger userbase in Japan. It's as if the software developers made it for the 360 only, knowing it won't do well in Japan, and hoping for a success in the US instead. Now I can understand Tales, since it's not as big as FF, but it just doesn't make sense to me for a business company to develop a game and hope for a huge success in their own country on a platform with a small userbase. Well even if Tales is coming, I'll be sure to pick that up for my 360, and hopefully SO4 if it comes out for the PS3.

well, considering that tri-ace is already developing infinite undiscovery for the 360 exclusively, I seriously think this will be a ps3 exclusive, all the star oceans except fot the 1st one has been on sony's consoles, and also the ps3 has sold more than 2 million units in japan whereas the xbox hasn't even hit the million mark, unless they want to focus more on north american gamers, then I think star ocean 4 will remain on ps3, also the ps3 has enough userbase in america to guarantee a million games sold here if they advertise it well. The only reason why they would turn down on the ps3 is the
very complex development for the cell processor

I liked blue-haired Fayt well enough. Chances are I will like blond-Fayt well enough, too.*

*provided it comes to the PS3 in some form or another

This has to be for the PS3 at least, if not an exclusive since in Japan, MANY MANY more own a PS3 than a 360.

We really do need more Japanese RPGs.

This may though come out for the 360 as well to garner more American sales. Just like DMC4 sold on 360 in the U.S and on PS3 in Japan.
