So is Lair worth playing now?
I really wanted to get it the first time around, but the negativity scared me away.
ViagraFiend @ Apr 15th 2008 10:51AM
Yeah, andrew, if you have lair laying around, could you post quick impressions of the new patch?

I was pretty excited about the patch until I read this. I don't think that I'm going to buy this game until it's in the "greatest hit" category...still not worth it from what I read. Take it for what it's worth I guess.

Cool some more GT5P vids, although i think i saws these on gametrailers, but watching them on ps3 is better imo.
Thoas @ Apr 15th 2008 1:17AM
Now I can start playing Lair again without throwing my back out. HOORAY FOR ME!!

Not related to this news but news nonetheless, a few days ago I went into my local Walmart and lo and behold they had dualshock 3 controllers on peg hooks mixed in with the regular sixaxis controllers. the sticker for the price said $48.92 or close to that which I knew was the price for the sixaxis, not the dualshock3. Anyways just wanted to let you all know they indeed scanned at the price for the sixaxis instead of the proper $54.99. So if your looking for cheap(cheaper) DS3's check-out your local walmart and see if they have this same mix-up

I've noticed this aswell, but not just at Walmart. The Sixasis is priced more then the DS3... lol
Daniel @ Apr 15th 2008 1:29AM
Not at my walmart :(
Anyway, I may actually rent Lair this weekend :)
Gaucho @ Apr 15th 2008 1:33AM
Has Sega Superstar Tennis been available? I thought it was supposed to come out LATER this week?
Daniel @ Apr 15th 2008 1:35AM
came out the last update (2 Thursdays ago)
Syn @ Apr 15th 2008 1:35AM
It was out last week...
Gaucho @ Apr 15th 2008 1:36AM
oh, must have missed it. Sorry
Jove @ Apr 15th 2008 2:03AM
awesome. lair. i didnt think it was so bad to begin with.
sirpilf @ Apr 15th 2008 2:23AM
the super stardust HD add on pack is EXCELLENT!! i dont like bomb attack or time attack much, but endless and survival are so much fun. endless is my favorite, with many new types of enemies and styles of "waves"... sometimes literally thousands of spikey things start flooding like liquid all over the planet... and soemtimes there are big red cone things that when destroyed, send a shockwave over the entire planet and destroy everything.
and im considering getting lair now, i rented it and was ok, but i dont wanna pay more then $30 for it.
Consolcwby @ Apr 15th 2008 4:20AM
I recently bought Lair last week used, for $25 at Hollywood Video. So, keep checking around, your bound to find it at a good price! =)
James @ Apr 15th 2008 5:22PM
The EBGamestop "25% off used PS3" coupon is good until Saturday, I think. The one by my house had it for 40 bucks, and if you're in their club it's an extra 10% off, so ~$27 plus tax. I think I might bite.
never$$hort @ Apr 15th 2008 3:48AM
No warhawk expansion :( I guess 2 more days won't kill me. Curious about SuperStarDust add-on and maybe down to try Lair now... Really wish I could even check out the new PS store but this update is taking sooooooooooo long to download. Did anyone else's take for ever too??
Popfrogs @ Apr 15th 2008 9:40AM
It's a mental trick I've noticed with the updates lately. They usually download or install to 60-65 percent then boom, your system reboots and it's good to go. Dunno why it does this.
GRT @ Apr 15th 2008 9:55AM
"In lieu with the new firmware"
lieu means "in place of" or "instead of". This opening sentence makes no sense.

Haha--thanks! Let's not forget that this was written at 1AM! Fixed.
Haiddasalami @ Apr 15th 2008 10:25AM
Yes but to an average reader it sounds nice.
Brian Spence @ Apr 15th 2008 11:28AM
I loved Lair. How can you not look at that picture and think this game is anything but awesome?? I can't wait to try out the new controls (although I had no problems with the old ones).
Will @ Apr 15th 2008 10:37AM
I'm buying a PS3 today! Yay!
baby sea tuna @ Apr 15th 2008 11:22AM
Lol, I noticed that particular bit of strategic restaffing at my Gamestop as well. I think you may be onto something with this conspiracy theory of yours...
skidawg @ Apr 15th 2008 12:05PM
does anyone know when that pixel junk monsters expansion is due out? i can't wait for that one
papertiger201 @ Apr 15th 2008 2:11PM
You can get Lair brand new for $30 dollars at Fry's Electronics (at least as of last week).
I picked it up and tried it, and the SIXAXIS controls didn't seem too bad (then again, I only tried the training and first mission).
I look forward to trying it with the new controls.
Ty @ Apr 15th 2008 8:13PM
Guys Lair PWNS NOW! HOLY SHIT! I picked up the game and compared it to my original demo play. HOLY CRAP. The game is spot on with the controls plus some of the dragons just seems to control better all around. I don't know about all the changes yet but the game is AMAZING!
INYAFACE @ Apr 15th 2008 6:37PM
well , after a 2 week wait ..... big deal. hope they actually add some content thurs.
farfisa @ Apr 16th 2008 9:47AM
I've always wanted to try Lair, ever since the first vids popped up on the web. I finally picked it up used yesterday for $22.49 Cdn ($24.99-10% for the gamer card) at EBGames. Last week it was still $40 (and yes, they even knew about the analog patch). Can't wait to try it out, but will have to wait for a time when life allows it.
Having trouble with the store overall though--no thumbnails are showing up. The text is all there, but all the thumbnails are blank. Anybody else having trouble?
infekt @ Apr 16th 2008 3:24PM
I see Super Stardust Add-on pack as $5.99 not $4.99. Whats up with that?
