It's not easy to find deals on PS3 hardware. Retailers barely make a profit on these packages, and it's usually up to glitches to find a new system for anything lower than MSRP. That seems to be the case with this latest Kmart deal. You can pick up a new 40GB PS3 system for $360 + $6 shipping. You'll have to use coupon code "AK10OFF7" to take advantage of the savings. We don't know how long this will last, but for those of you that have been on the border about buying a PS3, this might be your best opportunity yet.[Via Slickdeals.net]

SonyStyle still has the deal, I believe, where you can get $100 off your first SonyStyle purchase if you apply for their SonyCard and get approved. That's how I got my 40GB for $300.

Open the card, get the device, pay off the card and close the account. What's the big deal? If you've got credit in the 800s, this method works fine for air travel too!

In Canada...wait for a Real Canadian Superstore No Tax weekend (generally every 6 weeks).
In Ontario that would be like paying $353 for the 40GB and $442 for the 80GB

Real Canadian Superstore (and sometimes YIG) have no tax weekends...the last one just past...you could get a 40gb for 379 (they knock 20 off! so it would be like paying 335) or a PSP for 159 and pay no prov or fed taxes.

I just ordered this last night from Kmart. I have the order number that they gave me from the check out screen but they have yet to send me the auto-email for the confirmation of the order...

Yeah I ordered one as soon as I saw this, and they didn't send me a confirmation or anything. I just made a Kmart account and looked at the order history for my email address, but it was empty.
I guess this was a glitch or something. ;;
