Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm trailer proves its worth

When images of Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm appeared a few days ago, many doubted the authenticity of the shots. The quality of cel-shading was so superb, that many called "bullshot" on the images. Well, looks like CyberConnect really is working miracles on the PS3. This Sony-exclusive fighter looks absolutely riveting, and the first trailer (watch it in HD!) certainly proves it has some powerful tech behind it. Doesn't this look more vivid than the animation found in the anime's first season?

The trailer promises that "the line between the Naruto TV animation and gaming will truly disappear." Would you agree?

sweet. Now the only naruto games I've ever played were the one on the PSP and the ones they put on PS2 kiosks in electronic stores. Is this a pure fighting game like those or is there some backdrop/story/follow-the-anime kinda deal to this one?

the story is basically an anime arc. From the looks of it, might be the leaving of Sasuke (douche tough guy)

lol douche tough guy. Yea he's sorta like that i guess. I read some comments over at GT and the people over there speculate it'll be JP voices. Either case, I'll be importing this one. Really love the PSP Naruto game I have and I'm sure this will play the same or probably better.

Its a fun party game...I never played the story, just mash buttons and win. I know Im not supposed to mash buttons but Ill always win with that strategy.

From the looks of it, it seems pretty much like gameplay scenes, since some of the Naruto games are kinda like that. I remember playing a japanese imported naruto game on my PS2. I don't recall the exact title and I'm not sure if it ever released outside of Japan but it indeed had gameplay scenes like those. If you look at some of the background and the art style, it reminds me a bit of Valkyria Chronicles.

Agreed, but for all we know, this could just be CG, and not actual gameplay. Which is why I hate videos like this, just show the gameplay already...even 5 seconds of it.

Yea, actual gameplay vid with life bars/gauges/whatever would be really nice. We've all been disappointed many times before with CG scenes that developers have been claiming to be real in-game footage. Let's just hope that CyberConnect doesn't disappoint.

YEES!! YES!!! I will definitely be importing this game, along with the Dragon Ball Z one coming out too.... now if they would only release a Bleach game for the PS3...

This is exactly why I'm glad the US PS3 is the same region as Japan!!

ooooh man, YES bleach needs to be on the PS3. They have the one for the Wii but too bad Wii games aren't region-free. At least I don't think them to be w/o being modded. Besides, I don't feel confident with playing a/the Bleach game using the Wii's controls. I already had a hard time playing Budokai on it last year and traded it in out of frustration.

with bandai namco's defection to the 360 i'm really surprised that this is a ps3 exclusive........don't get me wrong i love my ps3 and i never play my 360 hell i think the last time i played my 360 was 4 months ago but with all there doing like the former exclusive ace combat and ridge racer and katamari and others i'm just surprised i guess i still have a bitter taste in my mouth ever since they announced that the next tales game was going to the 360 exclusively then MAYBE coming to the ps3.......hell i'm still waiting for eternal sonata on the ps3 well there's my rant

I imagine that this is exclusive because the last Naruto Next gen game was exclusive to 360. It looks like they are trying to spread the love around a little, or Sony ponied up a huge amount of cash, let the inner fanboy in you be the deciding factor.

If this is in-game graphics, which some of it definitely looks this way...wow. I really am amazed. I couldn't care less about Naruto but this game looks amazing.

Maybe because this is made by Cyberconnect which made like 5 Awesome Naruto games for the PS2 only. If you played the recent shippuuden (Screw spelling it right) game, you would know they are constantly upgrading the single player, while adding more characters and stuff in the fighting mode as well. They are VERY good at making a Naruto fighting game with very amazing cg for the specials. The PS2 looked amazing, I know I'm crazy, but I prefer it's character model over the Rise of the Ninjas.

Looks pretty good, if there are adventuring aspects like in the 360 game, I'd buy this, but not if it's solely a fighting game.

Rofl @ the quote because its wrong. The animation is 10x better in this game than the slack job that the current naruto animators have been putting out. So the line is there, but the anime is at the bottom side of it.
