Apparently the
Metal Gear Online beta is already up and ready for downloading onto your PS3. It actually is supposed to be downloadable tomorrow, April 17, though we're not complaining. If you are for some reason really anxious to slap this sucker on your system, then by all means, take advantage of this early gift.
Go on, follow the instructions on your voucher and grab the 741MB beta. The beta of course won't start until April 21, so don't expect your download to do anything other than sit prettily on your XMB.

LOL, that $5 goes towards your purchase of the game, that's the whole point of a preorder. You're not really paying $5 to beta test, you're preordering and they're letting you test as a result.

Working on the ipdate to the install right now. It has taken about 10 minutes or so. There is the ability to download the update through torrent or http. Did notice rumble as well...

You are missing a character. There is a big fuckup with the keys. A lot of people only have 9 digits like me. I emailed konami and said they would give me a new one.
At least you are only missing 1 digit.. You can always try A to Z for the last one and 0 to 9. Make sure you are typing in CAPS.

Make sure you are using CAPS for the letters. It does say something on there about being case sensitive.

I did use all caps is the code format XXXX-XXXX-XXX. I feel like I am missing a number or letter. I will try again, but I am going to be very disappointed if it doesn't work.

A Little Help Hear...Please?
A buddy of mine gave me his beta code because he pre-ordered the game but still doesn't have a PS3 so he let me have it. My question is, where do I put this code in on PSN? I'm going to make my Konami ID and all that today as well, but I was just wondering where exactly do I enter the beta code in. If anybody out there can help me I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Um, there isn't one. You preorder the game, get a DVD with a code inside. You then punch that code into a special place in your PSN account which adds the Beta to the PSN store for you. Then you download it. I think.

well im hoping and waiting for the EU version to work for me tomorrow. ive never been a fan of the MGS series (ima run and gun guy, shoot anything that moves) but my taste could change over time, i mean i didnt like FPS's either til a couple years ago. so i wont be heartbroken if i dont get in but i would like to give it a shot.

If you want to get more accustomed to team-dependent play, fire up COD4 and play some other modes like headquarters, search and destroy, sabotage, etc. Or you could get any of the PS2 SOCOM games and train that way. Nothing is more fun than getting on a good team that communicates and acts as a single unit. I think MGO has alot of stuff dedicated to that (simple commands that echo to your squad/team etc.).

How the hell we can sign up for the Konami ID if Theirs website is terrible and its not function to sign up. Everytime after you choose your country,language,birthday and click NEXT you get this F***ing message:
