GTA through the ages: a retrospective
Certainly, Grand Theft Auto must hold a dear place in the hearts of PlayStation gamers worldwide. Who could've thought that from the humble beginnings of the original PS1 GTA would launch one of the most successful video game franchises of all time? When GTA III debuted on PS2, it was a genre-defining blockbuster, and a system-selling PlayStation icon. Not only did it help define the PS2, it helped define the PSP as well. What will GTA IV bring?

GTA 4 actually looks very good compared to the previous titles.
I fail to see where people come off saying the graphics are unimpressive.

I'm sure many PS3 owners will buy the game, but I don't think it will define the PS3 as much as GTA3 did for the PS2, that was HUGE!
The 360 version gets the exclusive episodes and all advertisements out so far are showing the 360 version, Microsoft is paying a lot of money to get their version of the game out.
Which makes me think that they are fearing the PS3 and want to throw money around to make sure their version of the game is the most superior.

This retrospective sounds like a pretty great idea! So timely and original.
It coincidentally happens to be one of the same topics AND the same game that I submitted as a potential column when I applied for that freelancer position at PS3Fanboy/Joystiq.
Tricks of the trade I guess.

GTA was one of the most fun games I ever played. So much of what made that game fun was lost by GTAIII.
GTAII was strange. It was almost like a alternate future setting.
