I might jump the gun on this, but how much does the wheel usually go for though?
Happy_man @ Apr 21st 2008 9:52PM
I might just jump the gun on this, but how much does the wheel go for by itself though?
theb1rdm4n @ Apr 21st 2008 10:01PM
hmm, seems to be out of stock.
Clif Watson @ Apr 21st 2008 10:04PM
k...that didn't last even 10 minutes!
I didn't know the new wheel was out. Was this the older wheel? The Logitech wheels are usually like $175.
Haiddasalami @ Apr 21st 2008 10:20PM
I think this is the PS2 wheel.
Dahk @ Apr 22nd 2008 9:16AM
There's no difference cuz it plugs in via USB. It's not like the PS3 version is going to use SIXAXIS controls or something lol.
I have the Driving Force Pro, and it works FLAWLESSLY with GT5P =). Although you miss out on the brake bias and traction control settings on the fly lol. But its all good.
Haiddasalami @ Apr 22nd 2008 9:18AM
Ever since I went wireless. I cant go back to being corded.
Dahk @ Apr 22nd 2008 9:42AM
Errr I don't think there are any compatible wireless wheels with the PS3.
Tw3nty0ne @ Apr 21st 2008 10:23PM
It's the $150 Driving Force pro.
Nice wheel.
Too bad I got the Game Saturday.
='(
Sold Out, Yesss!
Dehshizknight @ Apr 22nd 2008 12:07AM
Lol, I got the game on day one, which was the first time I've ever done that since I'm not that big on getting new releases. But GT5: Prologue was one I just couldn't resist.

What a rip...you can get a Mario Kart Wheel for $10. SONY users shafted again.
:)
Happy_man @ Apr 21st 2008 10:46PM
Are you serious, I mean really, are you comparing a kart game to a car game.
I really don't know if you are being sarcastic or just being really dumb, awful comment by the way.
David @ Apr 21st 2008 10:51PM
There's a smiley face at the end of his comment. In the internet world it means that he was being sarcastic. Which is pretty obvious since we all know that Mario Kart is the real driving simulator and that 10 bucks wheel blows logitech's out of the water. ;)
Kspraydad @ Apr 21st 2008 10:55PM
Hurrah for David.
Kspraydad @ Apr 21st 2008 10:58PM
Oh...and Happy, you can click on a commenter's name to see their previous commentary...click on mine and you'll see 500+ comments on PSP/PS3Fanboy and none on Wii or X Fanboy...that MIGHT clue you in to my seriousness or not.
Happy_man @ Apr 21st 2008 11:28PM
Well welcome to the internet shall I.
RazLeboL @ Apr 22nd 2008 12:03AM
Wow Happy_Man, you sure sound like a frustrated man.
Eggy @ Apr 22nd 2008 5:49AM
He's joking of course hehe.
David @ Apr 21st 2008 10:47PM
That's the gt4 wheel. Nice one but you guys should keep an eye out for this one which is much nicer.

Kspraydad @ Apr 21st 2008 10:54PM
Any idea if they could make this wireless at some point? Rumours or current examples of wireless wheels (Mario Kart wheel doesn't count this time) My PS3 is above the TV and the wire just spoils it.
Popfrogs @ Apr 22nd 2008 12:22AM
Get a USB extender cable and run it around the TV then, there are ways to stealth wires. I think everything this gen should be wireless (and shouldn't require dongles) but hardware companies beg to differ.
Kodros @ Apr 21st 2008 11:17PM
I'd love to get a wheel for racing games but seriously...where am I going to put it? Is there a way to use these things without bolting them to a table?
paul @ Apr 21st 2008 11:26PM
there's a lap attachment on the logitech website
SonofaGunner @ Apr 21st 2008 11:28PM
The one I bought came with an add-on lap rest in case you have no where to bolt it. Check it out:
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/11A8TB1BFBL.jpg
It goes in between your legs.
Kodros @ Apr 22nd 2008 12:09AM
lol it looks like a bull head or a male chastity belt.
Galley @ Apr 22nd 2008 8:20AM
Older versions of the wheel used to come with a lap attachment.
acedoh @ Apr 22nd 2008 6:25AM
I figure if I am going to spend the money on a racing wheel I am going to go all the way...
First this...
http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-963416-0403-G25-Racing-Wheel/dp/B000GP8448/ref=pd_bbs_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1208859796&sr=8-2
Then this...
http://www.amazon.com/Playseats-Evolution-Gaming-Black-Silver/dp/B000K9Q5UK/ref=acc_glance_ce_ai_356_2_tit
I figure if your going to do it... Then do it right.
Iridium @ Apr 22nd 2008 8:24AM
That is an insane deal, Wholy Frick.
If you buy this you will have no regrets. $129 wheel and $40 game for $100. The new Logitech wheel is exactly the same other than the real time adjustment button, no big loss.
They could probably make the wheel wireless to the console but you would still need a wire to plug the thing in. Force feedback requires a lot of juice.
DOOMer @ Apr 22nd 2008 8:55AM
this is not the $150 driving force GT
its the ~$100 driving force pro
still a very good deal
farfisa @ Apr 22nd 2008 10:52AM
Hey Canadians--just noticed at Bestbuy.ca they have a deal on the PS3 page: buy GT5 prologue for $39.99 and get a DualShock 3 for $20.
Since the DS3 sells for $59.99 anyway, it's like getting GT5p free, so if you were saving up for either or both...
I just tried adding them to my cart and not seeing the discount, but here's the image:

Dahk @ Apr 22nd 2008 2:28PM
GAHHH darn farsifa. I was a much happier person before you showed up. (i'm... sort of kidding... actually no not really LOL).
I bought them both at original prices *sigh*.
Devin @ Apr 22nd 2008 12:43PM
I have an old Microsoft Sidewinder USB Force Feedback Wheel. Would this work with the PS3 and GT5:P? If not, what makes the Logitech Wheel work and not other wheels?
mega rabbit @ Apr 22nd 2008 5:20PM
Yay! the deal is back up. I just got mine (EST: 5:19pm, April 22). I hope this will help somebody
