LittleBigPlanet creators to deliver opening keynote at Paris GDC
We can't wait to get our hands on Media Molecule's LittleBigPlanet. The release is still a while away, so we're anxious to hear more information about this upcoming PS3 creation game. Mark Healey and Alex Evans, co-founders of Media Molecule, will deliver the opening keynote at the upcoming Paris GDC. According to the press release, "their talk will touch upon the ways in which game developers can incorporate creativity into their designs, and the future of user-generated content as illustrated by their upcoming title, LittleBigPlanet for the PlayStation 3."While PS3 Fanboy won't be attending the conference, we do hope that some intriguing newsbits will make their way out of the conference. Who knows? Maybe they'll surprise us with an early release date (we hope!).
Update: Paris GDC is the second French edition of the Game Developers Conference, and is scheduled for June 23-24 at the Coeur Défense Convention Centre in Paris .

by the way cant wait for this game.

Dehshizknight @ Apr 22nd 2008 8:07PM
Andrew is the only one working full-time. Jem and Nick are students still, so Jem probably can't skip class to go (great motivation to skip though. Lol!).

No... don't tell us WHEN the Paris GDC is or anything...
Andrew Yoon @ Apr 22nd 2008 8:08PM
Whoops! Thanks for catching that. Added a date for you. Just for you. =D

Awww. I'm touched. Thanks.

Knowing Sony's prowess when it comes to releasing things, this will be delayed as well.

LittleBigPlanet is the biggest tease. I was looking forward to this game since that first video came out and I thought it'd be fantastic. Now a year and a half later I'm supposed to still be excited? There are lots of great games out and due out soon. What went from being being a slam dunk now has a lot of competition for my consumer dollar. They should have gone the Gran Turismo route and given me a half-assed download to tide me over while they churn out a bunch of extra levels.

In the same boat as you. In all honesty, I completely forgot about LBP w/ all the talk of GTA4 and MGS releasing soon. Seeing this article reminded me LBP still exists somewhere.
Eggy @ Apr 23rd 2008 4:29AM
So if a game is announced it should be released within a year? What a load of BS. There is plenty to play before LBP arrives and it will be even better than it used to be. It now has a story mode among other things.
DrunkRaba @ Apr 22nd 2008 7:42PM
perhaps a demo soon!?
Fiddlesworth @ Apr 22nd 2008 7:43PM
I'm actually starting to believe that the delay whiners aren't real fans that want the best game possible but trolls. Seriously, STFU.
P-dub @ Apr 22nd 2008 8:23PM
True. If you're really looking forward to game, you need to learn to get over delays. Sure it's frustrating, but at least it's not like Duke Nukem Forever, where you know the devs are just screwing around and not even working on the game; Media Molecule is actually working on making this game the best it can possible be. So would rather have a half-assed game now, or wait for a few months and have a potential GOTY?
I know what I want :)
deusmecha @ Apr 22nd 2008 8:41PM
Shows how much you know, because I'm hoping this game blows everyone's socks off. But that does NOT give them a golden ticket to concrete a release date and delay it, over and over.
And if you don't speak up about that sort of thing, then developers are going to think that it's ok. Just like the "Home" situation.
So you can take your accusations of people who aren't afraid to speak up about their feelings being "trolls" and calmly shove it up your ass.

@deusmecha
Nicely said!
jusama14 @ Apr 22nd 2008 8:51PM
Yeah...I remember when there used to be a "beta" released towards the "end of 2007" that was never fulfilled.
Mark @ Apr 22nd 2008 9:02PM
Sure! That'll be 40 dollars.
FREDDY PAULINO @ Apr 22nd 2008 9:33PM

All the other lies that Sony promised? What about all the other senseless crap MS PR makes? I don't know about you, but I remember how much they kept bragging about giving us 360 owners an option w/ the hd-dvd addon. What about a blu-ray addon? What about that option? I swear sometimes you find wonderful people on the forums and in these comments that are completely neutral, and you find ones that are complete fanboys. What's with the double standard?
Consolcwby @ Apr 23rd 2008 3:06AM
Uh oh, it's about time for someone to call a WAAAAAAHHHmbulance for poor wittle fweddy here!
Stop being a baby and wait until the frackin' thing is done!

You guys sound like you have know Idea how to build something that has no blue print. It's a process, sometimes you take a step forward and then 5 back. Sometimes you think your done, only to find more to add or things to change and take away. Being creative can be harder than people think. Sometimes it flows and then you hit a wall. Please get over the fact we don't live in perfect.
