New screens show off Siren's aging enemies
While last week's trailer for Siren: New Translation sent shivers up our spines, these new screenshots give us a less frightening (but equally gripping) look at the game. Upon further inspection of these screens, Siren's grotesque zombified enemies appear to be mostly old geezers. It's kind of funny thinking about fighting off a horde of moaning and groaning geriatrics. With that in mind, the game seems slightly less creepy (or more, depending on how you look at it).
If you do push out the thought of them being "old people," it does make it easier to want to swing a hoe at these abominations -- like what this gent in the pic above is kindly demonstrating. Siren: New Translation seems to be an interesting title, hate for the elderly and all, so head over to Famitsu to see all the screens.

I'm intrigued at playing Siren: New Translation. Especially swinging some ho's. I mean hoes.

I'm intrigued at the idea of hiting old people zombies with a hatchet. That'll teach those senile bastards to take me tax money. yah! yah! back to the home with you! I guess the equivalent of the Brain Bore in this game would be the machine that turn these things into Soylant Green.

Well at least they are WHITE old geezers. Heaven forbid you have to kill off a village of BLACK geriatrics...

I hope to hell you are being sarcastic. If not, then you are one hell of a hypocritical racist with an intelligence of 60.
If you were kidding, then we're cool.

Let's not open up this pandora's box. Please, let's not hear anymore of this RE5 non-sense.

Ha! My attempt at sarcasm has been misconstrued?

Siren was a very underrated game. It was a different approach to horror than Silent Hill and Resident Evil and the fact that most characters couldn't even put on a decent fight made it all the more nerve wrecking. As for the comparisons with Silent Hill, well, the game was directed by Keiichirō Toyama, the director of the first Silent Hill. Other members from Team Silent worked on it too. It's a shame that Siren 2 never made it to America. I think a part of the reason the game was not all that successful in the west was the fact that it's a game that's very Japanese in nature, from the characters to the folklore, and that alienated a few people from actually getting into the game. That's probably the reason why most playable characters in this remake will be foreigners. The setting will be the same, as will the overall plot, but now part of the horror aspect of the game is the fact that the main characters are in an unfamiliar country experiencing all sorts of unnatural events. I'm really looking forward to this game, it looks like it's gonna be one hell of a scare. And hopefully, if they translate the game, the voice acting is better this time around... Cause the original was god awful...

Yeah I was thinking the same thing and you'll be glad to know they are voiced in English already, I hope the Japanese speak Japanese tho with no subs would be even more cool.
