Just looked at the singstore track listing and it looks like sony are using the same store for europe and usa...also there is some test videos up on the online part of the game from the usa launch event. the disc has the same tracks as the pal version i have minus the few added for usa.
Danger33 @ Apr 28th 2008 11:26AM
Wow! MC Hammer and The Flaming Lips?! This game is gonna be awesome, and I don't even sing karaoke but my drunk friends sure do!
Luke "MacMan" Centino @ Apr 28th 2008 11:33AM
Nice DM songs!!
Enjoy the Silence is a bit too predictable, like if Personal Jesus was on there. Shake the Disease is a surprise though. How about the new stuff? Or Dream On maybe? Photographic would be awesome too.
sUKi @ Apr 28th 2008 11:39AM
yeah man! I'm getting the Standalone game without the mic since I'll be using the RB one!
Finn123 @ Apr 28th 2008 12:14PM
Are you sure the Rock Band one will work? I know they always made a point of making it clear that Karaoke Revolution mics (which are standard Logitech USB mics) wouldn't work with SingStar and vice versa. At least that is how it was on PS2.
I'd love it if the KR mics would work and then I'd pick up SingStar too. It sounds like they will have better online content than KR.
Anyone know?
sUKi @ Apr 28th 2008 12:29PM
It's just a USB Mic. lol. Earlier Q&A said Sing Star will work with any USB mic. ;3 and i'm sure i heard from Fellow Europe owners of the game tried it and it works.
John @ Apr 28th 2008 9:01PM
yeah but dude, the Rock Band mic sucks compared to the Singstar mics. Been recording for years, trust me. Spend the extra $20 and you will sound better and get better scores.
sUKi @ Apr 28th 2008 9:26PM
It's okay. I have other mics to use. and plus. I can use the Playstation Eye. SO I can record 30 second clips also :3
Finn123 @ May 2nd 2008 11:16AM
If you look at the Hey Ya trailer closely on Gametrailers.com (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/33235.html) you'll see they are not USB mics. They appear to be mini-plugs where two mics fit into a USB converter of some sort so two mics go into two one USB port.
So if that is the method they go with I would imagine your RB mic won't work. No guarantees though.
sUKi @ May 2nd 2008 11:21AM
Could just be a USB hub for those that don't have the extra USB port. IDK. i'll see. i won't get the game until i know for sure there's online versus mode similar to rock bad vocal thing ;3
PreGHz @ Apr 28th 2008 12:24PM
Whether or not you love karaoke, you do have to give it to the Singstar team.
They've created catchy and complex game with a simple and clean interface. There are a ton of downloadable songs and an entire community out there for when the original mix is played out. Simple graphical touches like customizeable backgrounds add some nice detail to a screen that you're gonna see a lot.
Karaoke Revolution and other games with an online community and DLC should take note.

I am happy I do not need to buy the mics again. Seeing as I have them for the PS2. But if they were wireless I would pick them up again.
Also does any one know if the PS3 SingStar game uses four mics seeing as on the PS2 you could only play with two controllers and on the PS3 you can use four and I think it would be cool if more people could play at a time. Even if they were just backup?
Also who likes Spears?
Truth @ Apr 28th 2008 2:01PM
7 is the number of controller blue tooth ports the ps3 has open. so up to 7 players on a single ps3, not 4 as the previous poster has mentioned.
Michael @ Apr 28th 2008 2:04PM
Just for the fact Jamiroquai is on the store, will make this a must-buy for me. The funny thins is that I am American. Americans never picked up on the quality of tracks Jamiroquai produce. Now, the question is, whether or not to buy the mics, as I have 1 from Rock Band. Do you need more than that?
PreGHz @ Apr 28th 2008 6:07PM
The Rock Band mic will NOT work for SingStar.
They are two separate mic setups. If you don't already have the mics for SingStar, you will need to pick them up. Good news is, you can buy the two mics at Gamestop used for only 10 bucks, less if you have an Edge card. They're guaranteed for thirty days, so you're good to go.
Tranando @ Apr 28th 2008 7:38PM
Would love to see some of the disc songs from the US release made available for free to Euro owners, as a goodwill gesture for the shitty treatment.,.
I would like:
The Ramones I Wanna Be Sedated
The Rolling Stones Sympathy For The Devil
Warrant Cherry Pie
AK @ Apr 28th 2008 3:19PM
The songs suck. there is hardly any R & B and Hip-Hop. i think thats messed up
Mike @ Apr 28th 2008 4:03PM
Franz Ferdinand- Do You want to
This is both on disc and downloadable?
whistlepig @ Apr 28th 2008 5:04PM
maybe they think the disc might skip on that song or something
Saffie @ Apr 28th 2008 5:58PM
is there a japanese equivilent to Singstar? PS1, PS2, or PS3?
aiko.adonia @ Apr 28th 2008 6:55PM
why would you buy blind melon if it comes on the disc? nice try with the trickery there singstar store
-Jad- @ Apr 28th 2008 8:00PM
Count me in into this one... the tracks so awesome and the store hold some good tracks... ^___^
Lou Da Naked Snake @ Apr 28th 2008 8:30PM
no Beyonce! WTF
nillaP @ Apr 28th 2008 8:39PM
im not sure if this list is completely accurate since a lot are downloadable and on disc and on other sites i have seen some songs not mentioned
PreGHz @ Apr 28th 2008 10:13PM
What you guys have to understand is that they will be duplicate tracks on the disc and the SingStore. When volume two gets released here, like it will in Europe soon, it won't contain those volume one tracks.
That way, volume two owners can pick and choose tracks from the volume that they don't already own. Vice versa for volume one owners.
Also, since the PS3 is region-free, some have already imported the UK SingStar. This allows them to shop in the US and download tracks from the US version without having to buy another disc.
tl;dr Duplicates tracks have their reason for being there.
Brinstar @ Apr 30th 2008 9:52PM
I'm so excited about this, and I don't have a PS3 yet.
Ryan @ May 21st 2008 10:40PM
i mourn the lack of country tunes in the store.
I understand maybe not on the disc ( though i hear country fans are the biggest single genre fan group ) but in the store, seriously, its not taking up space and I know i am not the only one who would buy them!
Same with rockband ( yes, i know its ROCKband, but i'm sure it would still turn a profit )
just my nickel minus 2 pennies.
