Bison is back for Street Fighter IV
Bison is one tough guy. He cannot be stopped, can he? Like a cockroach (on steroids) that can't be stomped out he's survived numerous close calls. Think back, he's toughed out Ken and Ryu's dual hadoukens in the animated movie. Even more devastating, he went through the horror of Jean-Claude Van Damme's butchery of Guile. But now, the criminal overlord somehow miraculously survived Street Fighter II and will make a return to Street Fighter IV.
The pupil-less baddie isn't the only old school boss making a comeback. Balrog, Vega, and Sagat are all in the new game, completing the four horsemen of yesteryear's fighting glory. We're sure that the inclusion of all classic bosses and characters will bring back all those good memories; however, we're still in the dark about what system this gorgeous title is going to. When are you going to let us know Capcom? While we ask that question, you can check out some pics in our gallery below and many more over at Capcom's blog.

So SF4 is actually a story sequel to the 2nd game?
I guess they'll pretend that 3 never happened? I actually liked those games, the lovely fluid animation thanks to CPS3. : )
CLupula @ May 1st 2008 12:00AM
they're not pretending 3 didn't happen, this takes place BETWEEN 2 and 3. still, bison is supposed to be dead. akuma killed him at the end of SSF2T and that's the thing bothering me about this the most. i hate that it's basically becoming a remake of 2, instead of focusing on new characters. if they were going to bring back old characters, i would've rather seen older versions of some of the alpha characters or even some younger 3 characters.

Why are we confused about what system this game is going to be on? It's obviously for the xbox and ps3. For the xbox because Microsoft has so much money and for the ps3 because theirs is the only d-pad that works well.
jorojoserojas @ May 1st 2008 12:28AM
I hope so. I have both systems, but when it comes to fighting games, the PS3's d-pad is way better than the 360's.
Ninjakamster @ May 1st 2008 1:40AM
I agree, I like the PS3 and 360's controllers almost equally, but the PS3 pad wins in fighting games at least.
Another reason it is on 360 and PS3 is so Americans can play it on the former and Japanese on the latter. : )
eugene @ May 1st 2008 1:46AM
the 360 is my console of choice but unless I buy a dedicated arcade style stick, there's no way I'll ever buy a fighting game for the 360... that D pad sucks so very hard.
brettjr @ May 1st 2008 7:03AM
You know what? Forget this game, it's too old school. They're going to release SSFT2:HD so if you what to play a remake of SF2 just get that. I'm not paying for a game that is intentionally trying to be a game that was released 15 years ago but with ugly animations. I'll say this it better be released at the 39 dollar price or less.

Hot damn this is what I've been waiting to hear! I've always been a Vega player, and he was the character I've been waiting for. Good to see they made him look so good.
Riley Freeman @ May 1st 2008 7:56AM
street fighter and mortal kombat should just release vs each other games. all lumped into one in HD. They bth screwed up a lot and lost 2 many fans. putting them together may be able to bring some of them back
Juliya @ May 1st 2008 11:03AM
SHIT! This game is ugly!
Damn you Capcom!
WTF is wrong with you?
You fucked up Street Fighter!
The person that did the artwork for this game, they should be fired. Seriously.
Oh well, I guess I'll be playing King of Fighters XII.
Kadamon @ May 1st 2008 11:01AM
Continuity? Makes sense?
Capcom needs not these trivial things!
TG @ May 1st 2008 11:06AM
What bothers me the most is it looks like Bison went to 3rd world plastic surgeon to have a chin lift, and they decided to throw in some testicle implants. Look at those things!
Freeze @ May 1st 2008 2:18PM
This game is looking more and more like a glorified animated Street Fighter 2. Now 3 stood out because of the fact that it was different. The mood, the gameplay, and even the MUSIC!
Jove @ May 1st 2008 3:32PM
i just wanted to coment to say this. raul julia is one of latin america's finest actors ever and i absolulty loved him when he did bison.loved plenty of his films actually. :D
Japairish @ May 1st 2008 3:58PM
I also agree. It tugged at my heart strings when the article read, "Even more devastating, he went through the horror of Jean-Claude Van Damme's butchery of Guile." But thats incorrect, we lost Raul Julia forever.
Raul Julia was the only respectable actor in that movie, and its a shame he is no longer with us. The true M. Bison
mathab @ May 1st 2008 4:03PM
Hence the reason why I never mentioned Raul Julia. RIP. I kept my wording vague enough so it wouldn't be misconstrued with the actor playing Bison... since the guy died shortly after the film. But, I guess that didn't come through.
FearDFunk @ May 1st 2008 5:50PM
Serisously Capcom? Why not just call it Street Fighter 4 - This is really Street Fighter 2 in 3D ok gais?
dqham @ May 14th 2008 2:33PM
This game should be call Street Fighter 2.5
