Burnout Paradise Bogart update has hidden PS3-only feature
There's a hidden feature buried deep down in Burnout Paradise's Bogart update that wasn't mentioned previously. It's called the "Burnout Paradise Save Game Analyzer," and what it does is paints out a map of all the things you've missed. So, if you're on the hunt to collect everything and do everything, this will surely help you accomplish all.
The way this works exactly is that you need to import save game data via USB drive or memory stick. You'll take your data to Criterion's website for analysis. Then, based on the info on your save, an interactive map will be created so you can view all incomplete tasks. Criterion says "technicians are just putting the final touches to this feature – we expect it to go live [on our site] imminently!" Also, just as a reminder, this is PS3-only.

now you see... i love these guys... they will get my support. i would even pay 1.99 per update.. but they rule so much that they add things for free!!!
GOOO CRITERION!
Watcher @ Apr 30th 2008 1:52PM
Nice! This is how you keep a good game alive years after it's release. Give gamers creative goodies without additional charges.
mccomber @ Apr 30th 2008 1:59PM
I really wish more developers were like Criterion. Even with EA owning them, they are still a perfect example of how things should be done.
Ninjakamster @ Apr 30th 2008 2:03PM
Glad to see there's a developer out there that really likes the PS3. Now how about you Capcom....hmmm? >: (
NodgeDaFunk @ Apr 30th 2008 2:06PM
YES, You rock Criterion. Keep this up and you will be the coolest developer out there, come to think of it, you are aleardy the coolest. YOUR THE BEST!!!
JaffaBoy @ Apr 30th 2008 2:10PM
Criterion you get my vote for best developer! Great to see some non-greedy, charge you for everything developer around (are you listening PAIN developer!!!).
But for now, I'm going to continue to try to find those remaining pesky gates and billboards myself... until I get so frustrated I give up!!!
shortyvs @ Apr 30th 2008 2:25PM
look. i love the burnout series as much as the next guy, and it's great that these updates are free, but until they add split screen multiplayer i will still be disappointed. new islands, motorcycles...don't care
useedems @ Apr 30th 2008 2:50PM
Further proof that no matter what you do, someone still cries.
Ian @ Apr 30th 2008 9:40PM
I agree with you. The fact that this game doesn't have split screen multiplayer really disappoints me. I would play it a lot more if it had this feature.
Scilent @ Apr 30th 2008 3:08PM
I am amazed at how much support they are giving this game. They have really stepped it up and made burnout the number 1 next gen racing game so far.
kevin @ Apr 30th 2008 9:12PM
U forget Gran Turismo series?
Nerdkiller @ Apr 30th 2008 3:18PM
That means I won't have to buy a lousy magizine just for the game.
jae29one @ Apr 30th 2008 4:17PM
Its funny how everyone is giving big ups to Criterion and in reality their just trying to save their asses with this half ass BS game they came out with.. Im a HARDCORE BO fan (or use to be) and this Burnout is a plain snooze fest.. The online is boring unless you have an organized (mature) group.. This 1 wrong turn on its a wrap for the race is pathetic (they need to have a close set courses when online)..Crash needs to be brought back @ no cost.. If all these so called updated that are coming are free or come at a very resonable cost then I with it.. But dont come out with some half ass game, leaving out things that you know and everyone else knew fans of this game wanted and then try to charge us for that $hit..
matthew_neitzer @ Apr 30th 2008 4:22PM
Um, they are not charging for anything. o_0
FreshJulius @ Apr 30th 2008 4:37PM
a) Do you even own this game or have you even played it? This BO rocks so much more than any other rendition of BO in almost every way. If you're one of the "where's my Retry" whiners, well... that's been covered ad nauseum.
b)If you have indeed played/own this, you're obviously not very good at it. I absolutely suck at this kind of game and I can still manage to win enough to keep me more than happy, even on the more difficult stages. You can go so many different ways on this open world BO that you CAN make a wrong turn [or three] and still find a way to win.
c) it's free man, they're all free and BOParadise is one of the most feature-rich games I've come across when it comes to replayability. I'm sorry you're missing this.
HAAS599 @ Apr 30th 2008 4:55PM
they are charging for the game itself and I agree that taking out the set crashes and doing this open world thing really steered me away from this new BO. I didnt buy the new BO and dont plan on it, I just prefer the old BO games.
Look at GTA, they haven't changed the formula one bit and the games just get better and better.
jae29one @ Apr 30th 2008 4:55PM
Well Fresh Julio ( Yea right) your wrong in A, B and C.. Wow.. i do have the game, I would bust your ass any day in whatever type of event (Race, showtime, stunt runs, whatever) I willing to be that I have waaay more challenges done than you too.. but what does that mean.. Nothing.. Why?? Cause from the comment you just made that this is better than any other BO game before.. Please!!! Everyone know that BO3 what the best of all BO.. Revenge would've taken that but it come out with a shit load of bugs and online people too alot of advantages with "game sharks".. Listen the game is OK.. But its not BO standard.. But their trying real hard to make it back to it.. I dont understand why everyone is taking this free updates for granted.. Dont get mad when they surprise you.. This is EA for crying out loud..
FreshJulius @ May 1st 2008 9:44AM
You make me laugh!
No, really! You make me laugh, for real!
I couldn't care less about your achievements and all of that and if you're still confused about whether you're getting charged for things [being that you do own the game] I'll just defer to your eloquent stylings as reason enough to stop paying you any mind.
nbnz @ Apr 30th 2008 4:54PM
I wasn't planning on getting this game but the ongoing developer support is so impressive I might have to add it to my list.
SSG @ Apr 30th 2008 5:15PM
i plan on purchasing this game soon
Brodie-san @ Apr 30th 2008 5:20PM
Well, technically GTA *did* change their formula. It was a top down racer at its inception.
But I can see why some people are disgruntled with the new "free-roam" nature of BO:P. However, even if you don't dig the new format you have to admire Criterion's courage to go in this direction.
jae29one @ Apr 30th 2008 6:05PM
I feel what you saying Brodie.. IMO the Open world thing is good.. The whole city being avail from the jump was a good idea.. But I think that they went to far with it.. Yea is an open world but what up with that on a race.. You make on mistake.. Thats all it takes is one mistake and thats it its a wrap for you.. You done.. No laps for you to get back in the race..Nothing.. This is a racing game..There not even laps on this thing..
AshStampede @ Apr 30th 2008 7:13PM
OMG!!! I am missing 3 gates and my need to complete that before i did anything else stop me from continuing this game. I LOVE IT.
