More horrifying echochrome levels to fear
The user-generated levels for echochrome continue to pour in. In preparation of today's American PSN release, we wanted to showcase the latest bunch from Japan. If you've played the demo, you know how daunting this title can be. Imagine how much pain your brain will be in when processing these brain-benders.

Are these user-created levels downloadable for free on the store? Or do we have to make silly micro payments?

Comment 44 - yes, they will be free. They will provide some on the store for free, they can be traded between PSN friends, or even saved to a memory card.

Nice to see that there will be some challenging levels. I thought the demo was trivial, and I was going to skip this game, but I may grab it, now.

What did you expect? It was a demo with 4 levels, right? These are the types of levels that I will be expecting in the full game....I'll probably be trying to beat this game for months....who knows....and with this user-created stuff I can only imagine how hard those will be.....

I expected to get at least one level in the demo that was somewhat difficult. Still, it's nice to see that there will be what looks to be tough levels in the game.

this game gets really really hard. The demo is the easiest levels on the game. I have the psp version and I'm stuck. There are levels where you have to control 4 characters at once which the demo doesnt show you. So im sure people will be uploading their levels on sites and blogs so the 10 bucks you get will be worth it if you can just download levels online.

why did they make me wait a week to make it available for DL ?
Devin @ May 1st 2008 3:09PM
My guess would be they didn't have the game translated entirely in English or setup for NTSC and since they weren't ready to release it last Thursday, they were left to wait until today, but that's really anybody's guess...
I've been wondering the same thing ever since the first PSN download that arrived in Japan first, but took 1-2 weeks get here in the US....
You'd think Sony would try to give its customers a reason for why it takes 1+ weeks for games to debut, especially if there is a legitimate reason(s)...
drdre74 @ May 2nd 2008 9:22AM
well sony just held it because the japanese version has english subs and english voice overs in it. So they didnt have to do anything to it.

Sooo...when is this supposed to be released?
Today? :)

I beat that 333 level... It's not as hard as it looks! =D
Oh, and user levels are downloaded randomly through the game - freeform mode (the first mode) randomly assigns levels between user and the levels the game comes with. I already made 4 levels myself!

A question: On my PS3, when the ethernet is connected it automatically looks for new levels when I start up Echochrome. My buddy has it for his PSP and has no idea how to get the downloadable levels for it - can anyone offer advice?

Nevermind, did some digging on the Playstation blog and it seems there's no DLC for the PSP version. Sorry for muddying up the comments with my douchery.
