Oh my! We have a great video of
Prototype to show you, but it is rated Mature, so we have to put it after the jump. The game, blending ideas from
Assassin's Creed and
Knights of the Old Republic and
Grand Theft Auto and any number of similar sandbox and choose-your-destiny games,
Prototype does still appear quite intriguing.
Joystiq wrote up an impressive preview of the game for your enjoyment, so don't forget to look at what they said. Basically, the game is good but difficult to judge from a quick impression. We'll see if the game lives up to expectations when it hits later this year.

Not too bad looking.

still more hyped for Infamous. even though we only seen about 1 minute of the game
parkd @ May 4th 2008 12:12AM
Since Infamous is exclusive, it's probably going to be better...

I think it suffers from what's wrong with Star Wars: Unleashed in that it has great graphics, physics and powers but ...where's the challenge?
Until i see more from this I'll stick to GTA4 for my free roaming experience and Ninja Gaiden 2 for my combat simulator thanks. :D

Actually, "Where's the challenge" is exactly why I'm excited for this game. In Crackdown, you could buff yourself until a whole army of puny gangsters couldn't scratch you. In Prototype, you're supposed to have to face off against guys with similar powers to yours (!!!) at various points throughout the story. *That* sounds pretty awesome to me.

I'm still in the middle on this not sure why, just can't decide if I want to get it or not yet, maybe it'll be a rent.

I remember back when parkour was called running.
xeleion @ May 3rd 2008 1:13PM
I've liked this game since I heard about it, but this is the first video footage I've seen and I'm now excited. Some of the physics look a little weird, but it's still a work in progress so it's all good.

Now, I'm hyper!*

What's with all the flying hobos with janky animations?
recon @ May 3rd 2008 5:24PM
wow, this thing/person is amazing. Who and how could you possibly stop this dude. Here i thought Mystic was awesome, but this dude... is violently worse. I love it, BRING IT ON!
Beer Buijsman @ May 3rd 2008 9:43PM
Euhmm why is he able to jump trough the helicopter rotor blades? Twice..?
Wayne @ May 4th 2008 1:47AM
Cause he is a hero. No seriously, is that the only unrealistic part you noticed in that video?
Beer Buijsman @ May 4th 2008 1:54AM
Well it's not like all the other stuff is believable but it kinda annoyed me, as if the animation wasn't done correctly... A well, if he can shapeshift he can probably dodge the rotor blades so fast we can't see it on video... Right?
Wayne @ May 4th 2008 9:54PM
Let's say that :P
anthonyjh @ May 4th 2008 1:22PM
Wow, I'm not excited for this game any more.
Consolcwby @ May 5th 2008 2:19AM
Hey, this looks like it could be fun... I wonder if there is any multiplayer in this, tho...
