Blu-ray movie releases for the week of May 4
There's some good variety this week. Let's see, there's Bollywood romance, a little bit of Irish drama, and an Ice Cube comedy. If Bollywood romance is not your thing, then you can watch an equally sappy and camp story in P.S. I Love You. Here's the rest of this week's flicks:Looks like there's something for thrill seekers, too. Take a look at Twister; it's all about tornado chasers. And you boring types (pardon the pun), don't feel left out. You can watch Helvetica ... a documentary on typography.

Cloverfield is kind off a long way away if its coming on blu ray on June 3, why cant they just come out on blu ray and DVD at the same time, geesh...

>>why cant they just come out on blu ray and DVD at the same time
Obviously, because the studio is trying to double-dip. Get us to buy the DVD first and then the Blu-Ray when it comes out like four months later :/ Sickening, isn't it?

soon there will be 600 hundreds blu rays out there!

@LatinoLA
Because Paramount was sort of late to the party, there was no way they were going to get the Blu out on the same date as the DVD. I'm just glad it's coming out so people can stop clamoring for it. lol
Though I'll still be seeing plenty of requests for Transformers.

I haven't seen twister since middle school, they used to play it whenever it was storming too bad for us to outside for recess. We all piled into the auditorium and watched it on the projector they had setup.
Looking back on it, that's sorta screwed up to do to a bunch of kids. Watching a movie about killer storms while a storm is rolling through outside...
ComicShaman @ May 5th 2008 12:06PM
A movie which also contained a phenomenally poor strategy for dealing with a killer storm as well. "Let's attach our belts to this pipe! Then the Class 5 tornado will just pass harmlessly over us!"
A movie which was also so desperate for a villain that it introduced "evil" stormchasers, who even drove black vans. "Those corporate suck-ups. They're just in it for the money!" Yes, if you want the big bucks, be sure to go into meteorology, folks. Be sure to wear black! The big corporations like that.
I don't need to see Twister again. It seared itself into my brain as one of the most incredibly awful movies I've ever seen.

Definitely buying Helvetica.
(I'm a graphic designer though, so typography is kind of my thing.)

Another graphic designer here, putting in a vote for Helvetica (I own it on DVD already though.)
