Must... Go home... Early...
frankym @ May 6th 2008 1:23PM
The big question...
How is Haze?!
Did all those delays help make a "superior product"?
mathab @ May 6th 2008 1:26PM
I'm definitely going to play this demo and I'll have my impressions up soon. The only thing is it's another huge demo. 1.6 gb ... it'll be awhile!
Nerdkiller @ May 6th 2008 1:28PM
I heard that the Haze demo is 1.5GB in size. As for the full game, I hear that everything is going well. It's still going for the May release. Lets hope the full game is good, I want the online co op.
ChodalBerryWagon @ May 7th 2008 2:53AM
I played it...
it was ALRIGHT
not really that interesting...
but I'm in a bit of a bad mood, so I might fell different about it later.
Csere Mihaly @ May 6th 2008 1:25PM
haze is 1557MB ... huge download
Martez @ May 6th 2008 1:36PM
I hope the people clamoring for downloadable TV episodes on PSN aren't the same ones complaining about a 1.5gb demo. That size is about on par with a single hour-long episode in HD.

^^ Click the green arrow.
drdre74 @ May 6th 2008 1:37PM
So i guess today is the make or break it for Haze. Once people play the demo Im sure their views will change on if they still want the game or not after all the hype its been getting. I'm going to give the demo a try tonight when i get home.
Rowdehaj @ May 6th 2008 7:08PM
I played it, and I loved it. Bit short, but very sweet. Nectar-sweet.
Nice touch to throw in the online co-op too!
uh-oh polio @ May 6th 2008 1:47PM
haze is awesomeeeeee, plus u can play it online now but only the first mission:(
James @ May 6th 2008 2:04PM
I really hope High Velocity Bowling is good. Been waiting for this game for months now after I got bored playing Wii Sports Bowling.
aMIGA_dUDE @ May 6th 2008 2:24PM
Silly, Silly delays.
Now that I have GTA4, I see no point in getting High Velocity Bowling.
PS For 5 people left who own a PS3 do not own GTA4 there is good bowling game in GTA4. Buy GTA4 it is great game!
Kodros @ May 6th 2008 2:34PM
The bowling game in GTA4 is crap. High Velocity Bowling is a much better bowling game and is worth the money.
Popfrogs @ May 6th 2008 7:02PM
Yeah the bowling sucks. Playing pool, however, is actually really good. I was surprised how accurate it was. Even though Michelle beat me...by 1 ball.
Cahlito @ May 6th 2008 2:18PM
good thing i made that EU account. i can go play haze today
Toby @ May 6th 2008 2:49PM
That is, of course, if we dont get hit with a region lock.
Jeremy @ May 6th 2008 2:50PM
When does the US get the Haze demo?
Darren Tilley @ May 6th 2008 4:39PM
Toby: In what way is "Initializing" misspelled? I've not checked it out myself (at work) but if it's spelled as "Initialising" then that would make a lot of sense considering that's how it's spelled in the UK.
wicko @ May 6th 2008 6:57PM
Yeah... so what if the graphics aren't the best? IMO, Halo 3 didn't have the best graphics either. But it was still fun. And so is this game. I made a euro account and downloaded it, and I thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay. It doesn't do anything crazy inventive but it was still a very solid game. I'll definitely buy it.
wicko @ May 6th 2008 6:58PM
Oops, replied the to wrong guy. Meant for the douche below me.
Csere Mihaly @ May 6th 2008 3:05PM
Haze: pure dissapointment ... graphics aren't so good, jungle realism is almost 0, grass realism is 0, rumble support executed badly, feelings are 0, it just another average shooter for you ... nothing more. Preorder canceled
frankym @ May 6th 2008 3:11PM
Thats what I thought.
Just goes to show that delays do not mean better games.
rafael @ May 6th 2008 3:12PM
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
sigh.... looked good D:
Josh @ May 6th 2008 3:37PM
Why do you even play games? According to your previous comments that games such as Tekken and Grand Theft Auto 4 are games that you'll pass on?! In your opinion what is a game worth playing? Now I haven't played Haze yet but I do believe your ideas are a bit skewed. I'll reserve my judgment until I hear more credible opinions.
Toby @ May 6th 2008 3:34PM
I just ran it, not region locked. Whats hilarious is they couldnt even spell "Initializing" right on one of the very first screens. My expectations for the quality of the game went down after that. playing it now.
LJ @ May 6th 2008 3:42PM
I'm really sorry to hear that.. even though it was delayed several times i really was looking for to this game. Pre-order canceled.
I'll wait for the reviews.
benny boy @ May 6th 2008 3:56PM
He does have a point. Even after the delays, the game still just looks like an average shooter. A bit glitchy, unpolished feel etc.
hobbes @ May 6th 2008 4:39PM
doesn't the brits spell Initializing different than us in the states? give stuff like that a break man.
Lars @ May 7th 2008 12:11PM
"just another average shooter ... nothing more."
That didn't stop Halo from selling like hotcakes. ;D
Brodie-san @ May 6th 2008 3:14PM
Ahem ... euros please.
Brodie-san @ May 6th 2008 3:15PM
Ahem ... euros please.
Brodie-san @ May 6th 2008 3:17PM
Weird ... double post ...
Ah well ...
European gamers get shafted enough! Prices in euro FTW!
:)
McKey1991 @ May 6th 2008 3:27PM
How do I get a European PSN account and how can I log in if I already have an North American PSN currently?
adolson @ May 6th 2008 3:43PM
Check this site for full step-by-step instructions: www.google.com
Matt @ May 6th 2008 3:53PM
Is Haze's demo online? Does it have online coop in the demo, also?
Just wondering--been wanting to play it for a while...
Rowdehaj @ May 7th 2008 4:50AM
Yes, it does. And it works great.
Jeremy @ May 6th 2008 4:30PM
Also, is there any multiplayer aspect to the Demo? (split screen)
JaseH @ May 6th 2008 6:02PM
Haze.... was AWESOME! :D
I loved it!
What the hell is that xbox troll doing here?... 0 for everything?... what a fucking jealous fanboy!
Don't reserve your opinions until you played them, and don't let some idiot fanboy ruin it for you & influence your thoughts.
Bunch of bullshit I say, considering Haze is looking good... and fun :)

There is online co-op and offline split screen too. The demo's a bit old now (it's the one that's been shown at several game shows) so the game's likely to run a bit smoother. Overall I think it's great. The jungle isn't Crysis realistic, but it looks pretty good. And for once a developer spelt customise and initialise correctly - using English instead of American English.
Popfrogs @ May 6th 2008 7:04PM
Ssshhh... don't say that too loud or they'll delay the game another two months for "localisation".
Brodie-san @ May 6th 2008 6:06PM
@Toby
British English is not the same as U.S. English. Neighbour/neighbor, colour/color, license/licence, realise/realize and ... yep! initialise/initialize.
These are just but a few examples of the many differences between the two. I won't even go into the whole "Oxford comma" thing (which is not really a U.S. vs. British phenomenon but it's not as prevalent in British English as it is in its U.S. counterpart.)
Ain't language great!?
:)
And before you start criticising (or criticizing!) the fact that I use British English, don't blame me. I'm not British but it is what is teached here in our school system.
Varone @ May 6th 2008 7:13PM
Long live British English! I swear Americans just put the letter Z (pronounced: Zed) in words instead of S because it looks cooler!
Most of the other differences are just lacking a letter, which means that American English was most likely born from laziness and errors!
Rowdehaj @ May 7th 2008 4:50AM
Taught! :p
FURIOUS144 @ May 6th 2008 6:25PM
i dont see the big deal with haze...its just another average shooter but warped further in time im savin my allowance for GTA4 =]
Mike @ May 6th 2008 6:46PM
lol yeah the bowling game in gta is garbage high velocity is almost like wii bowling. About Haze i dl the demo on a EU PSN and It is what you would expect from The ppl who made Goldeneye and Timesplitters those were very good games in there days and haze will be too
McKey1991 @ May 6th 2008 8:31PM
This download is taking forever, I'm at 90/1557mb after almost an hour...
Popfrogs @ May 6th 2008 10:03PM
Usually my downloads lag after the first 100 or so megs. Pause it and restart it and it'll speed up.
BTW Haze demo was actually really good. Controls feel goofy but so does MGO's controls...I guess I have to get used to it.
Brucie B @ May 6th 2008 8:38PM
Fun, but like others have said, It's just Average...
Daniel @ May 7th 2008 1:52AM
Just to let yall know, i personally liked it quite a bit, not quite "just another shooter" id say above average, the graphics are on par with halo 3 id say, the mechainics are well done and the swapping is seamless, not to bad all in all, anyone who gives the game all 0's either is a xbox Fanboy, or has no brain..sorry to say....id say the game is worth a go, definitely, albeit here you only play as the mantel trooper and the odd thing is, this demo is the same one they had been showing months ago, so were not even looking at the final product...which leads me to beleive that perhaps, JUST perhaps itll get even better with the full game as well, cant beat a nice in-depth storyline with some good gameplay mechanics...
