Reminder: PlayStation Day press conference today

PlayStation Day should play host to a number of exciting announcements. The press conference is scheduled for 11AM EST, and our European reporter, Jem Alexander, will be ready at the scene to give you up-to-the-minute news. Resistance 2 will definitely be at the show -- but what will the surprises be?

We're expecting more news on Home, and the reveals of some previously unannounced games. Feel free to start speculating here, but remember: official news is only hours away. See you then.

Let's hope that they'll at least give a concrete date on when home is being released. Public beta would also be cool.

That looks cool. But a full keyboard is kind of unnecessary, no? Am I the only one who'd rather have a flip-down handheld (like NDS or GBA SP)? I'm so paranoid about keeping the screen clean and safe. The new psp should have two analog sticks and at least 8gb of storage. A "flip-down" handheld would also have the advantage of being more compact and actually fitting in one's pocket.

Well I would expect some sort of info no matter how tiny on just about all of the upcoming first party games. I don't expect any sort of Home date though.

@Jonathan: The nuke symbolizes a bomb drop in a metaphorical sense. (ie: The Yankees dropped a bomb at their press conference today by announcing that they will be playing their Tuesday game against the Red Sox in the nude.)

I'd love to see news on: Heavy Rain, 8 Days, LBP (can't get enough sackboy!), Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Unnamable (no - not HPL, but that unnamed game mentioned by the BBC a few months ago...), and maybe, just maybe, some news on Final Fantasy XIII - like, when they think it might be ready by... you know, like 4Q2008? =)

there are many rumors going around that that mysterious game must have been Heavy Rain (despite the fact that the reporter mentioned that it hadnt been seen before).....nothing REALLY confirmed tho

My prediction:

-Resistance 2 will be delayed.

-Home will be delayed until the day after Duke Nukem Forever comes out.

Maybe we'll see some Wipeout HD and it'll be here soon. Motorstorm 2 juicy details might come too, and something about a new firmware update. Those are my guesses.

I for one for just love to hear of a new SSx game, or even a reincarnation of the previous games in glorious HD similar to that of Wipeout HD. Thats my dream anyway!, im gonna start my own campaign and pester EA Big until its done. Who's with me!?....

SSX is quite possibly one of the best extreme sports simulators out there.

I would love an update on white knight story, other various jrpgs such as disgaia 3, any of the arc system works games being ported to the us, home, the Sony digital distribution system that they have been working on, and so on and so forth .

I'm guessing they'll announce PSP firmware 4.00, which will have the PlayStation Store in the XMB so you don't need to buy stuff from a computer.

That's actually a good idea and Sony has hinted at doing this for a long time. It's good timing also since the PS3 has the 'application' store instead of the crap web browser one they used before.

Any PS3 can be 120 GB. It takes a regular 3.5" hard drive. But why stop at 120? My friend has a 500 GB hard drive in his.

I think its highly unlikely we'll see anything from Square-Enix. They'll likely announce that themselves. I'm excited for the Resistance 2 news. I think most of what we'll see is based on Sony's goal for this event. If it were to replace E3 then we could expect a lot of new information on games we've been waiting for. However, I don't think that's the agenda here. If it were, I think there'd be alot more information allowed to leak. I don't expect any huge announcements. What I do expect is hands-on, and the media's take on what Sony has ongoing. I don't expect to see new Killzone 2 information...I suspect that'll get pushed into '09...who knows perhaps they'll try to fit it in before Christmas. 8 Days will be a no show and so will Infamous. I'd even be surprised if White Knight Chronicles showed up. I think we'll get impressions of what's coming out this year only. News on Motorstorm 2 might pop up. News on Home, MGS4, and the standard fare will show up as well. Ingame XMB seems unlikely to me. But who knows for sure, we'll see. I think it'll ultimately be a great show, whatever course they take.
