American PSN Store update for May 8th

Don't feel left out, Americans. Despite how it may feel, Europe isn't the only region getting PSN Store updates this week and today's US update is rather tasty. Between the demos, trailers and PixelJunk Monsters Encore there's more than enough content to keep everyone happy. If you're intrigued about PlayStation Day, however, and want to check out the keynote then, sadly you're out of luck. Here's the full release list:

Haven't touched Warhawk since the expansion I bought. They seriously hampered the game since zone play is only on the small maps.

VERY true. I don't understand why so many people hate big maps, big maps are the best (aka I love Omega Dawn). Full VGlacier with zones is genuinely fun...

that being said im really interested in Haze... shall it live up to expectations?

The Haze demo is the same as the European one right?

What about the WipEout HD trailer? Is that the same one that's been in the European store for the past month? The mouth-watering-ly beautiful one that's been in that store?

lol, I misread and thought you asked if they were the same size.. Anyhow, my comment still stands.. They've branded it specifically as 4-player co-op demo, but I'm sure you could still play it in solo mode.

Great update! Harmonix really needs to step up the quality of their DLC though. The songs have sucked a majority of the time.

I so don't give a shit what anyone thinks, but I fuckin like Fall Out Boy. I liken their music to a Michael Bay flick: Crazed, incoherent, with dashes of random pop-culture references for fun.

I like Fall Out Boy too. But I'm not part of the young crowd who has grown to associate it with emo kids, so I guess I have more of an unbiased opinion. Good stuff, classic punk-style rock. I like the drums a lot too. The drums are far more interesting than about 50% of the other songs for Rock Band.

You want to talk about crap... how about that Judas Priest, eh? It was fun in the 80's but come on... really?

On the US Store:

Haze(tm) Demo (Playable Demo) [PS3] - 1,474Mb (Note: UK Store’s file is 1,557Mb!)
GRID(tm) Demo (Playable Demo) [PS3] - 961Mb (UK: 962Mb)

These differences in file size could be regional language changes but almost 1Mb of adding "u" to "colour" seems a tad excessive, so maybe there are some in-game differences too?

Also, for Rock Band McDonalds and Harmonix have 99 cent tracks every week. This week it's Paramore and Rock n Roll Band by Boston.

I checked the PSN store, and the only thing missing was the Rocketman add-on, which is what I was looking for (yes, it's true, and I have fun playing it with my 5 year old: she's quite excited for the "expansion." Believe me, I'd much rather play this with her than play with dolls.)

However, the Rocketman add-on is nowhere to be found, and believe me, I looked everywhere. Any news on this? I'm sure most of you don't care, but perhaps they delayed this one?

The expansion is coming, not here yet. The only update to Rocketmen was to make it available for purchase directly, instead of via the in-game store.

My daughter will only play Puzzle Fighter Turbo HD Remix (good lord that's a long name) with me... it's a good game, but I barely get to play cause she dies so fast most of the time.

Ptrack: That's my daughter's 2nd favorite game on the PS3 right now. I can beat her only about 30% of the time--she knows how to play, but instead decided it's more fun to bring things down as fast as she can, stacking randomly, until she gets the diamond. It's insane, she's nearly unbeatable, and even on the hardest difficulty against the computer, her technique works. Tell your daughter that trick, and she'll love beating you every time she plays despite your best efforts at strategy.

So.....Bourne Conspiracy just officially moved to the tippy top of my most wanted list. That was the best demo ever. They should all be that good. I've played it like 10 times already and its completely different every time. I hope I get to Haze tonite.

Wow. I'm actually a bit impressed with that Haze demo. Sure, I'm not without disappointment. My chief complaints are the seemingly bland characters and the somewhat unpolished controls...

But the nectar thing added a nice little element to combat. I disregarded it at first, but it's already grown onto me.

I also like the use of actors during the introduction movie. It brings back memories of Resident Evil 1.
I'll be testing out 4 player split screen tomorrow with some friends. I hope they like the demo as much as I did, because I'm definately looking forward to this game's release.

I don't think the demo has 4-player split, but it does have 4-player online co-op. I don't know if the final game will have 4-player split either, but it will at least have 2, as the demo does.

I've been playing PixelJunk Monsters Encore for a few hours. It is INSANELY hard, compared to the original. I have lost quite a few times on the easy levels (which are anything but easy). Good luck everyone! :o)

Yup... I rainbowed the first level the very first time, but now I can't even beat the next level leading to the easy "special stage". MUCH more difficult!

Bourne demo was the best demo I've played. The game suddenly is on the top of my most wnted games list. Didn't expected that it will be so good. Hopfuly the full game is so goodor even better than demo. Maybe the first game made from movie which is not going to be f**k up.
