Watch Killzone 2 from PlayStation Day [Update]

Update: We had to remove this trailer earlier in the week due to unknown embargoes. However, now that the embargo is done, we're clear to give you the Killzone 2 trailer from PlayStation Day. Enjoy it in HD (the way it was meant to be experienced) here.

While half of the video is rather obnoxiously a close-up shot of the Killzone 2 logo, the in-game footage we do see here shows a lot of promise. 2009 is a very long, long away ...

If you're going to correct me, at least do it right ¬_¬

There is no proof Bioshoc 2 will be on PS3. Knowing Microsoft, they'll buy exclusive rights like they did for Gears.

COD4 and Orange box ARE on PS3, but Orange Box suffers from major flaws and COD4 as it stands is the best FPS on PS3.

Halo may be average, and I for one don't like it, but it sold 8 million +, just on 360 alone, thats some average sales for an average game.

We don't know what Killzone will bring, the vids look pretty, but will the game play pretty? That is the big question. As for Resistance, I already know it will do well, they just need to tweek a few thing to make it better then the first one.

Really? Hes talking about the future? Thanks for informing me, I didn't realise considering Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 aren't out yet.

We have no idea what the future will hold, the future is meaningless at the moment, the only thing that matters is the present, when the games actually come out, then we can talk. For the time being we can't hype any game until we know for certain it will be worth the hype.

COD4 was, GTA4 was. Will Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 be as well? Who knows? You certainly don't, so that makes you about as much a fool to the situation as I am.

I'm not sure Microsoft would pony up enough cash to secure the Bioshock 2 exclusivity. It wouldn't really be financially feasible for T2 now the franchise is such a big hit. Just like Sony not securing the GTA IV exclusivity.

Hmm i don't see any wrong in maverick's post. But anyway, Halo lived off the hype wagon. With 8mil+ sales, you remember how H3 was on every commercial, value meal, soda can, bus stop weeks before it released? Add to that every review threw 10s at it just like GTA4 got its 10s despite several flaws.

There's no doubt MS might pay off for exclusitivity, but Bioshock 2 doesn't seem like a game that they care too much for. It's great and all, but definitely not AAA imo, especially when the first one was short and lack any replay value. Those factors tell me if I was MS, I'd spend money on exclusitivity else where.

But hey Maverick, maybe KZ2 might not be bad. I hear the first one is horrible, but Liberations on the PSP had pretty awesome gameplay. If that's anything, it might show that Guerilla has done some of their homework correctly.

Im not saying it will be bad, I never said that at all, nor am I saying it will be awesome, how would I know what its like, I haven't played it yet, none of us have.

The thing with Halo and GTA is that thier predeccessors were great, maybe not so much Halo 2, but the hype and the drama built up around those two games kinda ensured they recieved nothing short of a 9. However, saying that, Killzone 1 wasn't anything superb, and we can't base Killzone 2's success off of PSP, PSP Killzone played differently, it wasn't FPS. This is a whole new game, while we all know that unless Insomniac mess up, Resistance 2 should be better then Resistance 1, whos knows what Killzone 2 will be like.

Killzone has a lot to live up to, the E3 trailer, the constant hype, the hundreds of praises by Sony and Guerrilla, do you realise how embarrasing it will be for PS3 owners if it ends up like Lair or PS3 Orange Box? Flaw upon flaws etc! So far so good from the vids and news, lets pray that the final product actually destroys the likes of Halo etc, especially at this rate. If it does, PS3 owners can rejoice, if it doesn't PS3 owners will be the laughing stock of the generation.

Other then Halo 3, GTA, Smash Brothers and a few others, Killzone 2 has been the talk of the generation, lets hope it goes down in gaming history for the right reasons, pleaaaassseee don't let us down!
