Star Wars: Force Unleashed producer confirms demo
As the first "next gen" Star Wars title for home consoles (the LEGO iterations don't count), many gamers and fans alike are keeping close watch on Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Mixing a dangerous combination of high expectations and lots of hype, eager game addicts everywhere are craving for a demo. So are we getting one? Yes we are, according to a VideoGamer interview with Cameron Suey the producer for Force Unleashed on PS3.
While Suey has revealed that a demo is indeed in the works, it's still anyone's guess as to when we'll see it. Suey's exact words were, "I'm not certain about the specifics, but we definitely want to get this game out into people's hands." The game launches on September 16 in North America, so that means the demo could pop up anytime within the four months until release.

Sweet! I love playing demos. It's always nice to get a taste of a game before it comes out.

Nice. From what I've seen, Lucasarts have crammed a bunch of nice tech into this new engine. Characters are alive somewhat, and when they're flying through the air (from explosions or whatever) they will flail their arms and try to grab anything to stop. If this leaves them off the ground they'll dangle there and squiddle their legs trying to hang on.
They also created an impressive materials library and have physics applied to each one. Glass, stone, ice and wood all break and splinter differently, metal deforms when impacted, etc.
This is one example http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/9303. The animations aren't scripted, the character is reacting to physics.

The demo would have to be pretty bad for me not to buy this game!

Honestly, one of the only multi-plat games I'll be getting this year.
