Assassin's Solid is real
Do you remember back around the time of April Fool's seeing this video depicting Snake in an Altair costume? That was hilariously good fun. Of course, we all thought that was just a nicely played joke; however, it isn't a joke. It's reality. Gamers can actually put Snake in an Altair costume in Metal Gear Solid 4 as part of a collaboration with Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed. Does this mean we'll be seeing reciprocal costume exchanges in the next Creed adventure? Maybe.
This is just one of the many tie-ins revealed at today's MGS4 Completion Ceremony held in Japan. MGS4 is going all out with theadvertising collaborations: celphones, iPods, motorcycles, and energy drinks. We just hope all this in-game advertising is subtle (it probably will be unless Snake starts flashing cheesy grins at the screen with product in hand). It's good to hear that the game is officially celebrated as done. Now, all we need to do is wait for June 12.

Gaucho @ May 13th 2008 11:44AM
not the best camo, but whats the point of stealth when you look that good.

Those teams need to collaborate on a game next. AC's style with MGS's gameplay. That'd be an amazing game.

Could you possibly amend these sentences ?

'celphones' while you are at it as well.
reson8er @ May 13th 2008 12:14PM
This will be as close as I ever get to playing Ass___ Creed.
Gaucho @ May 13th 2008 12:21PM
It's a good game, I dont see why people dont like it. where else can you punch a leper or stab a peasant whos getting all up in your grill?
Mike Sylvester @ May 13th 2008 12:43PM
Probably Newgrounds.com

Actually, Snake flashing a cheesy grin might be up there with "infinite ammo" in MGS2. I don't want product placement in my games, but it would be funny as hell.
reson8er @ May 13th 2008 5:05PM
Infinite Ammo was classic. I lol'ed at that.
Zombie Huggles @ May 13th 2008 12:21PM
I kind of like this whole mixing of games, for fun. Remember hunting for monkeys on MGS3? It makes the gaming world seem more friendly and less hostile. Remember that time Reflections came out with Driver 3 and tried to make fun of Vice City but in reality, D3 kind of sucked?

I say the more advertising the better. We want this thing to sell don't we? The more it's out in the public, the better it should sell...hopefully.
koehler83 @ May 13th 2008 5:05PM
I find it hilarious that Altair looks so much better in MGS4 than he ever did in Assassin's Creed.
Fucking Xbox bringing down polygon counts.. The game would have still had freezing and frame rate issues.. but at least it would have looked better.
Fraser JK @ May 13th 2008 1:25PM
Joke was fun, but I didn't like AC that much... although playing with Altair's costume will be fun, the bugs in AC will haunt me forever.
Byron517 @ May 13th 2008 2:57PM
I'm sure there's loads of easter eggs and hidden items in this game there's always something in MG!! Its going to be fun!!
Mooseman721 @ May 13th 2008 4:00PM
Thats just a bit odd. Why not Sam Fishers green lights instead? ;)
