LittleBigPlanet devs will 'support' interesting tool exploits

It isn't that we're disgruntled with LittleBigPlanet or interviews in general, but we can't help but think we know pretty much everything we possibly can about this little giant of a title short of having it on our consoles. Its release date is still far off, but Gamespot took the time to question Media Molecule, the developers, on its progress. Let's listen in with our handy-dandy summary goggles.

There are interesting parallels between the Media Molecule office and LittleBigPlanet -- both have co-op and versus modes, both have dark sides, and both are totally awesome. They feel the game could have existed and risen in popularity even without user-generated content. They want to enforce that concept: they pitched the gameplay mechanics and tactical elements to Sony. The user-generated idea wasn't the focus. It's a fun game where building stuff yourself is merely an option and not a necessity.

Still, they hope what users create is as professional or better than what they ship with the game. Those kinds of talents are in every game with user-generated content, after all. In fact, if people find ways to exploits the creation tools Media Molecule provides in interesting ways, they'll promote it. On the flipside, offensive or poor content will get rated down, similar to our own website's comment system where the "rubbish" simply fades away, while the good remains. We look forward to hearing more as the game draws closer to release.

I have a 360, and a Wii, and I'm wanting to get a PS3 for:

Little BIG Planet
Metal Gear Solid 4
Final Fantasy versus XIII

Jak and Daxter 4

And to play my PS2 games, cause my disc drive in my PS2 is broken

I know there's more games that I want, but those are the main ones.

Not really too fond of Shooters on the PS3 (But that's just opinion)

dude once you get your ps3 your not ganna want to play 360 anymore all they got comming is gears 2 and halo wars LOL just sell your 360 for ps3 games and stuff like that it will be well worth it

why are you inciting flame wars Mike? the guy obviously enjoys his xbox360 and I'm sure many others do too. there are great games on both consoles. i think people should stop hating and just enjoy the fact that we have so many quality games to choose from. I want to get an xbox as well. any other ps3 owners want to get an xbox? which is the best one to go with? the elite or the pro? what are the differences etc?

i had the biggest fight with some 360 fanboy store clerk in gamestop today when i went to go get a copy of MetalGearEssentials Collection. Some guy infront of me wanted COD4 for PS3 and the clerk said im not selling it to you unless you have 360..WHAT?!?!... they were arguing for like ten minutes about how ps3 is making games all downloadable off the store.. he then said there making a 300 gig ps3 4 that.I continued to ROFL at him and said bring up your stores upcoming games for ps3/360 compare them he had nothing to say after that the guy was like are u ganna sell me the game? he refused to sell it to the man and he said that there all out i went behind the counter picked the game that he hid under the desk and he got fired on the spot LOL!

When I went to buy my PS3 at Gamestop, they said to me "Oh, I guess you already have an XBox360". I said no, I don't. And then they proceeded to try to sell me a 360 instead for a few minutes.

Rofl... Nah... I completely love my 360... I think it's focused more on a gaming console rather than an entertainment console.

And their gaming list is the biggest to look forward to this year (360) same with the PS3.

Why be restricted to only one system to prove my... allegiance... to a company.

i used to have 360 had it since launch sold it tho 2 days ago for reserves i got the best games commin in DBZ, Soul calibur, metal gear, LBP, killzone, ahhh you know what im talking about lol i also have my wii still but nothings rly comin out for that either i got supersmash n all that im getin kinda bored with that as well but im ganna wait till the balance board comes out n try some games on that if nothing impresses me ill do the same thing as i did to my old friend 360 and rule the ps3 community in every game lol

oh def. but after gears 2 and everything as you mentioned and still having to pay for that damn service wich is just as equal in every way when we get the TV shows and Movies on the PS store REALLY soon along with Home and all that whackyness> The graf x still amaze me on the proper games FF13 as u mentioned. The power of the PS3 is yet to be at its Max ive played the MGO beta and ITS CRAZY I suggest u get the NEw Bundle Comming out in Exactly less then a month 6/12 u get the new controller wich is insaine! I can understand why u want to keep the 360 ninja gaiden i loved the first one im upset they didnt make it for ps3 either since Sigma was sick for ps3. anyway get that bundle so i can pwn joo lol i got 3 of my friends gettin it (and 1 sold his 360 the day he came over n play some cod4 on ps3 just to get the money for a mgs bundle

AWESOME DUDE!! For sure! When I get a PS3 I'm gonna need someone to show me around the place =(... I've always loved Sony, I think this console had a rough start from the beginning but it's def. becoming more popular and it's starting to show it's stripes.
