SCEA announces US releases for PS3/PSP games

Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) just announced some release dates and timeframes for their first-party 2008 titles. Summer looks to be great for PlayStation fans, especially fans of the PSN. Look at all these incredible downloadable titles!

A while back they had said it was tentatively planned for September, but when they made a more official release announcement, a month or so ago, they said October.

P.S. where's Home on this list? Hehe

It's a 12-part episodic downloadable game in the US/Europe.

What about "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" which is also supposed to be on 9/16/2008 and I think Bionic Commando should be around then too. I guess maybe they're not considered "first party" so they wouldn't be included. Either way a lot of good stuff coming down the line.

I would have liked to see more love for the PSP but I'm happy with LBP and wipeout HD.

Remember this is Sony's first party lineup, so it do not include second and third party exclusives. I also think it might be missing some items, like White Knight Story which I assume is a first party title.

360 line up? All I see that's worth a look are NG2 and Gears 2. To each his own, but don't come here with that 360 line up bit when all they have are rinse and repeat titles. They don't have anything as innovative as LBP, or Home because everyone knows that the only thing M$ does innovatively is how to take your money.

Just curious, why are people so into box art these days?

The only think I care about on the case is the spine. I hate it when it's hard to figure out what the spine says. I'd at least get some use out of those "box art revealed" postings if they were "spine art revealed" instead.
