The funky fresh intro of Phantasy Star Portable

Wow, it's really coming. Phantasy Star Portable is finally coming, after months of silence. Features like connectivity with previous PSU games is a plus, although the lack of Infrastructure gameplay has us a bit bummed. (Hopefully Sega will add that to the inevitable US release!) Here's the intro movie from the game, which reminds us a lot of Persona. Man, wouldn't it be great if there were a Persona game for PSP? ...

Maybe if we push our luck with Persona 3 & 4 like we did with PSU, maybe it'll come.

Bout the game: Intro looks sweet. It's a new storyline right? Oh, and personally, I don't give a crap bout infrastructure, since AdHoc is my choice for multiplayer... but I know lots of fellow players would appreciate infrastructure support. So, who knows? Keep wishing.
And yeah I agree with you Andrew. Persona on PSP would be Oh-So-Sweet.

not in Japan, the use of ad-hoc is much more common and used than infrastructure
and since PS ISN'T REALLY an open world MMO, the lack of infrastructure, at least in Japan, isn't as bad as it seems for us.

Games from 3rd parties (other than maybe EA) won't have infrastructure because the servers will just be clogged up with pirates. They can't afford to have a game not sell and have to actually pay for the freeloaders playing online, too.

I know!! I would love another turn based Phantasy Star. I have heard nothing but bad things about these online versions. PS II and IV were excellent games and a couple of my favorite RPGs.

Im sure you can use XLink kai with it just like monster hunter to get online. you people need to stop freaking out. psp always has online multiplayer because of XLink kai and wifi max. >.> thats why i like my PSP more than my DS cause i can go online and play people with games that shouldn't be multiplayer. like bleach heat the soul games. lol XD

I see what you've done SEGA! and I am loving every minute of it! :] and I agree Atlus should at least make a psp version of Persona 4 along with the new ps2 version. Although since I bought persona 1 and 2 off ebay I play them on my psp with cfw...

I plan on both buying and downloading this game. Phantasy Star, without a doubt, is the greatest series. Ever.

That's just a matter of tastes. Personally, I thing MHF is the worst thing ever created and I'd choose PSO a gazillion times over it.

Just bring back PSO, period. PSU was okay, but it had nothing on the world of Ragol. In hindsight, it was such a small game, but PSO I & II (for GC) was perhaps the second-most hours i've sunk into a game, after only Smash Bros Melee
Put PSO Blue Burst (Episodes I, II, and IV) as well as Episode III (a totally different game, but still great) onto a console, and maybe make an Episode V
