Resistance 2 video interview covers multiplayer squad tactics

Here's another insight into the world of Resistance 2 -- the community relations manager, James Stevenson, covers all the aspects of Insomniac's upcoming shooter as far as multiplayer is concerned. A lot of the interview is focused on clearing up what is meant by "squad-based" play. That is, groups of squads in a match tackling separate objectives, while still working together. It's a lot less confusing if you listen -- that is, if you aren't mesmerized by the gameplay in the background.

This sounds pretty freaking cool. The squad system is very engaging and adds alot of depth and team work to a stale genre.

Oh please xbot, the graphics are great. Don't hate the game cause it's not coming to your console. Just buy a PS3 and join the fun this november.

Resistance 2 is going to be shooter of the year and I'm looking forward to it.

Nah, he's no Xbot, he's just trying to judge 720p graphics in a tiny flash video. That's where he failed.

Anyway, did anyone else watch this and hear "bla bla bla bla bla" while they were staring at the gameplay?

Very early build still. Been listening to the Full Moon Podcast Insomniac puts out, and they did mention how much of the ramp up and finesse happens near the end of development. It does look rough, but it hasn't even come close to getting through the polish stage. They were mostly promoting gameplay elements at Judges Day. I'm actually surprised they were letting the game be taped in the background until they were good and ready to show it off come June.

cant wait for this game. i still kind of wish they would at least keep the option of 30 vs. 30 chaos. thats what i thought when i heard 60 players. this squad system is great though. i hope you can use your clan or something as your squad.
