Deal of the Day: Guitar Hero III bundle for $60

If you missed out on this generation of music gaming, this deal from amazon.com may help kickstart the habit. The Guitar Hero III bundle, which includes a wireless guitar, is now available for $60. Yeah, that's expensive ... but that's $40 cheaper than standard MSRP.

While we're pretty sure this guitar will work in the upcoming Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and Guitar Hero IV, don't expect to use it in Rock Band. If you don't care about cross-series compatibility, this is a pretty stellar deal.

GH3 can stick there guitar where the sun doesn't shine!! ROCK BAND RULES.. If Activision will ever crawl out of the hole there in, and allow Rock Band support with their guitar, I'd buy this stupid game. just for the guitar.

Wow, that's not a bad deal at all. For someone like me that would like this for some casual gaming, I like it. Sorry, but I can't take these game seriously and get hostile like hobbes.

I've stopped myself from buying this or Rock Band because of the price and the cluttering that the plastic intrsuments cause. That and I have GH2 so . . . I dont really know if this is worth it. The price makes it tempting. . . i guess. On the fence.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago to play co-op with a friend. I enjoyed it more than i care to admit. But there's always the feeling of "You sad, sad person" while i strum away at a plastic guitar. If i need to take it anywhere to play i hide it in a real guitar bag to hide my shame.

Actually the amazon price drop hits all the major consoles, PS3, PS2, 360, PC and that gay nintendo thingy. I think I'll pick it up, but I still have a decision to make.

This deal is available on all consoles + PC. My question...why is the PS3 version rated so much lower than all other versions? I've read about audio/video sync problems. Has this been patched? I also read something about the PS3 guitar requires and external dongle. WTF? I think I'd rather have this for PS3, but not if there are problems.
