Konami America just released 19 new screenshots of the upcoming PS3 mega-blockbuster, Metal Gear Solid 4. Our excitement for the game has just shot through the roof recently, as we sit on the edge of our seats, eagerly awaiting our copies. Many of these stills will be familiar for those that have been paying close attention to the trailers. Each scene depicted has us begging for more, as we desperately seek to play through Snake's next (and last) mission.

I used to agree, personally. Then I played MGO. It looks a LOT better in motion than it did in screenshots... (at least, when it comes to textures of the environment--character detail looks pretty spectacular even in the stills)

if you compare pic #2 with #22, you can see how much they improved the graphics. lots more detail. it may just be the lighting tho. this game is looking like it might take the "most photo-realistic game" from cod4

Thanks for the valuable insight. From what bridge did you crawl under from? Most reviews gave port ops a great review and since I have a long flight and plenty of funds to blow on games I care not what you say.

anyways, look im not trying to be negative or a "troll" or anything. i'm just saying, the gameplay video for mgs4 look ok. nothings really there to grab your attention. wow, switch from third person to first...revolutionary!
my point is, unless ur a diehard metal gear fan, it hard to get excited about it.
and the portable ops thing, cmon you can't honestly say it stands up to real psp greats like gta lcs or lumines. ok, not exactly "fair" comparisons but you get my point. ALL you do is hide and sneak past people, occasionally you'll get to shoot ur gun. YAY! The camera has horrible, voice acting would've been better nonexistent, and the gameplay was overall boring.
now, if u excuse me, i guess i'll go back under my bridge now . lol

I'm not a die hard MGS4 fan & I'm hell YEAH excited for it. :)

It feels like Splinter Cell & Socom mushed together in one bowl. With a touch of AWESOMNESS of course.

So that pretty much blows your assumption out of the water. ;)

With all due respect, you sound like someon who hasn't done his homework, you criticise all of these features in a negative point of view & you call it out as fact. In my opinion, MGS4 isn't revolutionizing the "FPS" view, it's more like a add on to help some of those through the way. Second of all, you seem to base the level of GREATNESS of the console titles on the handheld versions. This is pure FLAW.

GTA LCS was shit compared to SA, and GTA VCS was shit compared to GTA IV. Did that stop the excitement or expectations in the JUMP to next-gen?... No!

Wow you went the "get a life route" -the last bastion of refuge for a poorly articulated position. For the record I am in the process of building 2 highrise towers (450ft) while entitling 6-12 other projects and selling out a 200 unit project in SF. I'm training for a marathon and can do a half marathon right now. I game for maybe 1-2 hours every other day -much less than most people watch americas fattest ice skater on the tele nightly. This is just my life, and I'm sure others on this board have similarly busy lives and interesting lives. Posting on a blog that covers one of our passions doesn't diminsh our life energy as you suggest, in fact I feel the opposite is true. If anything posting on a blog about something you can't stand to draw attention to yourself may very well be indicative of your own thesis "get a life".

Yeah I never can understand people that visit a forum dedicated to the PS3 then poop on a AAA title that they have no interest in. If you aren't going to buy it, if you aren't a MGS fan, then why bother posting?

@the troll: Kojima and crew have spent 4 years on this game. Have you spent 4 years of your life doing any singular task, besides yelling out "fries are up"? You can't even comprehend what has gone into this game, yet you see a video and some screenshots and shrug. I noticed that you joined in April and you have contributed almost nothing here. Now you're trolling. Maybe it's time to unjoin.
