Don't stay in the dark, Linger in Shadows explained
It also looks like it won't be too long before all of us can get in on the action. The game is expected to see release this Summer or July at the earliest.

It's like the the squid machine things from The Matrix meets the monster from LOST. Who will win? I don't know but I'm more interested to see if the giant flying dog will catch that damn giant cat.

Interesting.
This could spawn a sort of subgenre of minigames released on a schedule. Like how you get a new magazine every month, a new piece of "interactive art" can be released once a month.
There'd have to be a dedicated team, however.

20-30 minutes to "beat". I dunno, it would have to have a lot of replay value to get me interested. I mean, calling a tech demo, "interactive art" and letting you mess around with it for 20 minutes, it better be priced very low.
Personally, I really like the idea of Tori-Emaki, and Mezmerize, but the art style in this would not make me want to use it as "art" on my tv.

You lost me at "interactive art". That just means "a game with no story and terrible gameplay, but good visuals".
SuperGayParade @ May 22nd 2008 1:16PM
sadly true

I like art, especially interactive art. Problem is (@ ~:30) they'd have to price it just above a short film ($1.99 @ iTunes). Five dollars at most.

looks wack. a 9 minute game bleh

Personally I give alot of respect to Santa Monica for nurturing this idea. I know that in the past, some companies have hired demoscene talent for jobs with game companies, but in this case, Sony is basically telling them "make it controllable and we'll cut you a check".
This should encourage demoscene guys to make even cooler "pieces" like this demo. If they're $2 or $3 each, they could even get successful. After all, they do it for the love, and getting a paycheck on top of that is just icing on the cake.
I never thought I'd see the day where the demoscene makes it to consoles. Most impressive Sony. *golf clap*

Wtf, I didn't typed it. What I was trying to say is:
IGNORANT PEOPLE, IT IS A DEMOSCENE!
By the way, stupid post, fanboy. Before you post something next time, I hope you
get really informed, ok?

Err, look. I don't know exactly what is the history of this demo, I don't know very much about PS3, but generally the demo binary is available to download for free.
Here's some video links of the same demogroup:
