Guerrilla Games talks Killzone 2 with X-Play

This interview is from X-Play and it is by Adam Sessler (who some will decry has a bias against Sony, but all things considered, he knows what he's talking about). Guerrilla Games spokesperson Steven Ter Heide talks a bit about Killzone 2 -- not a lot of information is really new, but if you've been confused about the hype surrounding the game or missed out on some informative bits, this interview may catch you up to the rest of the crowd.

This is crazy. Seems like everyone is biased against Sony. Who actually likes Sony in the Industry? Anyone?

Personally, I love Sony gear in general. I just can't understand all the hate. Is it a anti-japanese big corp thing or is it still the impression that Sony is arrogant?

A while ago, I read an article that said that people were biased against Sony because they've been on top for so long. Basically, they want Sony's position to step down because Sony wasn't going to be loosing.

I don't know if I agree with it but there you go... It truly is the consumer that makes up the success of a corporation.

I like Sessler, I trust his words... I have yet to trust Morgan Webb... I'm just getting over the fact that she's a woman who plays video games... (still hard to swallow)

On the subject of people hating Sony.
Must be angry underdog syndrome (AUS for short sorry Australia) ... Anyway I don't look at this like a competetion; In the end, the "losers" play again anyway. Unless you're Sega... I miss Sega.

No hard feelings on the AUS. But lets be honest, its sitll just North America with the 'AUS' syndrome, as opposed to us in oz, yeah I thought that might make it easier.

btw, I am with you 100% on the fem issue, heres hoping no one reads it and labels us sex-ist. Because im not, I love women...

Honestly, Sessler never comes off a fanboy. I used to hate his whiny tone of voice, and still do. He's always been a fan of Sly Cooper a SONY game and gave a lot of hype for Lair....yeah.

Anyways with Tech-TV gone with Screen Savers and Anime night. He's the only person up their that's credible.

I used to watch X Play -- when I had Tech TV. I just had to get used to the always present and accounted for Sony hate. Which -- I'm surprised to see -- is still there.

I remember the TechTV days and I definitely agree with you on that. It was like watching an Xbox channel... now a days it's .... like watching an Xbox360 channel. Oh well, G4 ruined that channel anyway and Morgan killed Extended Play (X Play).

Honestly, it goes both ways on the show I've noticed. Sessler is looking forward to LBP and has given reviews for some of Sony's games and I feel like he is fair. Most of the bad stuff is stuff that Sony puts on themselves so.....

You know what, Devin? You're right, it does go both ways. I've been around long enough to see that bias is everywhere. But, credibility, for me, is what's most important. When I see a review score, that I feel, is either too harsh, or too forgiving, I get suspicious. When I watch a show or read a magazine, I take notice, as well. G4 and XPlay favor the xbox, and Microsoft; Microsoft pays for a lot of advertising on that network, (and product placements). I want EVERYONE to clean up their act. As consumers, we all should.

Nah people just want to look cool in the internet. For example in the Joystiq article this idiot called Anticrawl was saying Guerilla was evil and people shouldn't support this game or Sony.

I ask him why and he just insulted me and people gave him 3 stars unless the loser voted himself up. Again people in the internet are very brave when they are hiding in their homes. I’m not affected by his words because every insult is contra-rested by facts but again idiots don’t want to listen.

Hating big corporations is considered cool for resentment of the middle class people who aren't poor but don't want to work hard either. They think they build their enterprises from blood and guns (some did I’m not going to live to you) but is an ignorant point of view since some companies work very hard to get there and is the work of generations but most people are envious and don’t understand that point of view.

Guerilla is a great developer but anything associated with Sony is going to be hated. Again I’m smarter than people like anticrawl and fanboys and I work very hard to afford a Ps3 and when I get my hand on Killzone 2 which I hope results in a very well project I’ll happy to buy it, I just loved the PSP game.

the game is lookin great, i love the whole feel of going through a warzone and the dropships dropping off troops.

but man that Ai has alot of work ahead of it for sure. unless this is on very easy mode.

I know it will never happen, but I'm hoping Insomniac will share the secrets of 60 player online with GG. Killzone 2 60 player online=ps3 seller. More ps3's=more people but Insomniacs games

Yeah, I'll never understand why this generation Sony is never good enough for anyone in the gaming media. Every time I go into gamestop (before I throw up in my mouth) I hear the employees dissing the PS3. It's like some viral anti-sony campaign has gone out of control. Regardless, it's reassuring to see so many people on forums still defending the PS3 and Sony in general. Like someone else said, in the end, the gamers decide, and going by the numbers, it looks like Sony is still doing alright.

You guys are right, it is the consumer that has the power, but sites and reviewers like X-play can never be fully trusted [plus, they have an X in their name]. Take the power away from them and they are nothing. This interview though was not biased at all. A funny thing to note too is, both Sony & M$ are at the top of what they do, just in different fields [clash of the titens]. I own all platforms, always have and will, but between M$ and Sony I much prefer Sony at this stage, funny never used to though. In the past I always looked up to only Nintendo, for as they're always inventive and know real fun. Now I look up to them and Sony, for Sony is bringing to the table simiar feelings for me, with fresh, inventive ideas and variety to boot! Back to K2, can't wait for this title it's going to ROCK!

Attack Of The Show is completely biased Especially that chick Can't remember her name at the moment. They're a bunch of xbot fanboys. It really shouldn't be like that Give all systems equal coverage and judgment I stopped watching G4 and won't start watching anytime soon.
