Metal Gear retrospective: MGS2

It's time for the next part of GameTrailer's Metal Gear retrospective; this time we're going back in time to Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, the Substance re-release, and The Documents of Metal Gear Solid 2. Ah, the fond memories. Remember feeling completely thrown off guard when you found out about playing as Raiden for the majority of the story? Or how about all those memorable scenes ... "You're a man?!", Vamp shot in the head, and Colonel Campbell's codec calls in Arsenal Gear? Good times, good times. All you MGS fans, make sure you watch this retrospective -- this is the one to watch to prepare for MGS4.

I've definitely got to run through MGS2 (maybe 3) again in the next few weeks in preparation for GOTP. Can't wait!

I think having Snake named "Iriquois Pliskin" in MGS2 was thanks enough.

BTW I don't ever remember Snake explaining Vamp to Raiden, saying he (Vamp) is bisexual and all that. On my latest play through, he started talking about this in a codec call. I was like...wtf I would have remembered this.

june 12th get here soon enough. between playing through all metal gears the first 2 and the last 3 which took awhile and the dvd that came with my pre-order im losing my mind its so close to being released but it feels like forever though aaahhhh!!!!!!!

Wow me and my buddies were just playing a modified version of ghost in the graveyard called snake in backyard. June 12th can't come sooner...

I picked up the Essential Collection and am playing through for the first time. Almost done MGS3. Wow this series rocks!

Now go back through MGS2 and collect all the dog tags.

My favorite trick for doing this is getting in a guard's path using the box, then when he comes up, patiently wait for him to kick the box. Next he'll peek inside. When he puts up his gun and starts to lift up the box, hit R2 quick then R1 plus Square. Instant hold-up, works every single time. Make sure you equip the M9 first though.
