Here's another two new characters for Street Fighter IV
All right, what have we got here? It looks like we're seeing more Street Fighter IV characters. The guy on the left, named Rufus, is morbidly obese and obviously training in the same dojo as Tekken 6's Bob. The fact that he is holding a tub of popcorn could mean one of either two things: he loves movies so much that after watching the new flick (and ogling over Kristin Kreuk) he plans on becoming a street fighter himself, or they just want to exude the fact that this guy is carrying a few extra pounds.
The other guy, Seth, seems to be a mysterious mix of the Silver Surfer and a Buddhist monk. Or so it seems due to that Yin Yang for an abdomen. Throw in his Hebrew name and then he's an even bigger enigma to figure out. Perhaps you'll just have to see more of these characters to understand who they are. You can catch some more pics over at Famitsu's website.

Tekken 6's new characters are so far more interesting than SF4's. It's kinda sad too, considering Tekken comes out with new characters every few years.
Street Fighter still holds the best lineup of original characters though, in my opinion.
xeleion @ May 29th 2008 6:59PM
Funny, I was thinking the same thing. Luchadors ftw.
xeleion @ May 29th 2008 7:04PM
Actually, I meant matador, in reference to Miguel. Sorry. ^__^;;
RPGJock @ May 29th 2008 6:50PM
It would be sad if this game came out before the remake of Street Fighter 2 HD comes out.

pretty boring character design if you ask me. though admittedly ken and ryu are iconic yet not that interesting to look at.
Tina @ May 29th 2008 7:08PM
Street Fighter 4 is one ugly game. Ugh.. Capcom, you suck on this one. You can keep your Street Fighter 2/Street Fighter EX remake.
Bring on King of Fighters XII.
HektikLyfe @ May 30th 2008 11:51AM
Most of the new fighters in SF4 actually look like they were inspired by King of the Fighters. It makes me wonder. Capcom isn't the same Capcom that developed the original SF2. It is completely possible that there was some industry employee swapping which would explain the character design similarities.

Seems like every fighting game needs a fatty these days...
Bob from Tekken 6 anyone?
Popfrogs @ May 29th 2008 9:29PM
Yeah but he wasn't the first. Don't forget about E. Honda and Jack from AoF2.
deaftly @ May 29th 2008 7:14PM
These guys look terrible
Gurtan @ May 29th 2008 7:46PM
Not to be an ass or anything, but Rufus (the fat dude with the popcorn) was announced about a month or two ago. His designed caused quite a stir in the SF community. But that said, thanks for the Famitsu link, it has some very nice pictures Rufus' stage and Seth's stage. really great find!
WHYY @ May 29th 2008 7:53PM
Why a fat ass and a naked whore? What happen to cool looking original designs like Chun-li, Mai, and everyone else. Argh. At least the Soul Calibur team is getting the right idea.
JaseH @ May 29th 2008 7:58PM
I love the level design in the screenshots of Ryu fighting that masked guy.
Makes you feel good about fighting in the area. Takes you back to the old days when everything was very simple & easy on the eyes. Haven't seen a better stage in a fighting game for years in my opinion.
But that's about it I'm afraid.
I personally think they overdid the silver with that monk dude.

Anyone else think that the new guy Seth looks kinda like Urien from SF3?
Maybe its just the muscles and the diaper.
But yeah
Greda @ May 30th 2008 3:32AM
yea, in fact i thought it was Urien...
Aizen @ May 31st 2008 3:05PM
Judging from the screenshots, he's going to play like Urien. He has some of Urien's signature moves such as the tackle, and the face-grab. The swirls of black and white on each arm when he forms a fireball reminds me of Gil's red and blue sides.
He's definitely the Urien replacement. :]
wtf @ May 29th 2008 8:13PM
two mad and ugly looking bastards that i would never play with
Mr.ESC @ May 29th 2008 8:45PM
Naked Sagat and the morbidly obese guy from the evil brotherhood confirmed for SF4.
Do not want.
Popfrogs @ May 29th 2008 9:26PM
Sweet, they're putting Gabe Newell in the game now. I can't wait to use his Super Sit attack or his Chicken Leg Hadoken.
A.E. @ May 29th 2008 9:34PM
I dont think Ive played a street fighter that i didnt like, plus MVC2 is the best fighting game ever...how many fighting games have actually increased in price after so many years? Capcom does know what they are doing for the most part, just give it time, this game is going to be awesome.
Alex @ May 29th 2008 10:18PM
SFIV is looking to continue the SF tradition of the sausage-fest
i'm not saying male and female characters have to be exactly equal. but as of right now... we only have two confirmed female characters right? whereas every other newly announced addition has been a male.
doom saber @ May 30th 2008 12:43AM
Is it wrong of me being more excited of Capcom's next versus game entitled Tatsunoko vs Capcom over SF4?
Although both are 3d, TVC is cell shaded and who wouldn't want to play as Ken from Gatchman or the rumored Go Mifune (Speed racer to us americans) from Speed Racer against Ryu and Chunli.
They seem to keep the tag battle in this game, so it might be awsome
I am suprised that joystiq said nothin of this versus title but then again, they just announced Rifus as a playable character even though we knew about him a month ago
Pics of Tatsuonoko vs capcom from ign:

lol yes a fat guy eating popcorn!
doom saber @ May 30th 2008 5:43AM
I was lookin at the sf scans at Kotaku and I notice that Seth has a shoulder move similar to the underwear twins (what my friend refers them to) Urien and his Gil in SF3. I wonders if this game will explain the powers those characters have in sf3.
baby sea tuna @ May 30th 2008 8:46AM
Oh Capcom, you had my interest for a little while, but you went and lost it again.
Carney @ May 30th 2008 1:59PM
Kristin Kreuk as Chun Li is great, but she BETTER be wearing shiny brown pantyhose that are a conspicuously darker color than her skin.
