PSP used in unsavory upskirt shots

The incident happened on the Nagoya Kintetsu train line. The local TV news constructed the images seen above which retell how the crime went down. As for the fate of the old dirty man, he's been arrested under Japan's anti-stalking laws. The PSP has probably been confiscated.

Haisook... I couldnt figure it out at first either. I think the camera is pointed straight ahead though, so when its laid down flat it is looking into the lap across the aisle.

Go Japan! I love that the guy was arrested and that they have anti-stalking laws with teeth. People get away with too much in the U.S., and I've seen police unable to do something about situations far worse in regard to a stalker.
Sad that an innocent PSP was involved, too. I can just see the media pouncing on this and convincing more parents that "video gaming is evil."

DUDE.. the image is showing that .. the seats are a perfect height... that would be as if he were laying down.. he would be able to see right up a skirt... its a perverted trick.. he could just look at the image right on the side of him and make sure it's what he wants.... Not sure I see the problem here. From the photos it looks like he didn't really have to go out of his way to get the upskirt shots. So she must have been sitting such that he could see the panties anyway. If he could see them anyway, then they were in public. If they were in public, then what is wrong with taking a picture of them?
Also she was 19, so not even a minor. I admit that the guy is a bit creepy, but its not like he worked out a complicated system of mirrors or something.
Secondly, its panties. What exactly is the difference between taking a pic of that or going down to the beach and taking a pic of the girls in bikinis? Both are fair game in my eyes, because they are in full public view.

1)In select areas canada beeing one of them there is strict rules about this.
1a)Privacy laws protect people who don't want there picture taken.If you have your picture taken and it ends up getting posted on a site etc then that person could get sued.That person aslo could face charges.
2)Who know how he took the picture.Maybe the girs was wearing a short skirt maybe the guy was a complete perv who knows.
3)Just because you could see something does not mean you can take a picture of it.
4)Panties is a underwear and bikinis is a swim suite massive difference.
