I enjoyed this game more than any other over the past 5 years - looking forward to a sequel next year. it's certainly worth spending $40 even if it's not your sort of game
Stoo @ Jun 3rd 2008 8:56AM
Kind of agree. My first play through was really an amazing experience. The last time that was the case was probably the first time I played Metal Gear Solid. I have played great games since but Uncharted really resonated with me for some reason.
koehler83 @ Jun 3rd 2008 8:03AM
Another $10 off and I'll jump on it.
Kryptinite @ Jun 3rd 2008 8:25AM
Same here. The game has been out long enough for me to wait for a 30 price drop.
FreshJulius @ Jun 3rd 2008 9:17AM
IMO, you're just being cheap and screwing yourself. It's up there as one of the best games to come out in years, and it's not even my style of game...
Gonzo @ Jun 3rd 2008 11:09AM
Wize decision.
I rented this and finished it in a weekend. Sure it's a great game but not worth $40.
GridloQ @ Jun 3rd 2008 8:31AM
It's $29.99 from the GameFly store (free shipping, most will just pay about $2 tax): http://www.gamefly.com/products/search.asp?k=&pf=1080&cat=10&sb=&pg=1&letter=&s=1&t=0&showall.x=38&showall.y=11

Yeah, I snatched one last week. I also noticed something interesting about Gamefly. You can pretty much pick an game and set a notification on when it will be available for you to buy then pretty much the next day you will get a purchase link to the game if they have it in stock.
I've done it with a few times and I'm not a member at gamefly but I get free shipping through Google Checkout.

I love this game, it's so awesome.
I played it. Then I played it again. And again. I was about halfway through the 'Crushing' mode when my I started to lose enjoyment, so you'll seriously get a lot of hours out of this game. I think I might re-visit it soon.
Definitely a must-have for PS3
preciousdeath @ Jun 3rd 2008 9:41AM
Yeah, I tried crushing mode and it's WAY too hard. but then I changed back to hard mode and played it through for the 3rd time. I decided to not play it again for a few months, so I won't get totally burnt out on it. Much better than the new Indy flick.
You guys that are holding out are only hurting yourselves. It sounds like you don't really want it too badly if $40 is too much. Trust me, if you bought it now that extra $10 will never matter.

If you dont have thsi game already then you cant call yourself a true gamer. This is a damn must have game. On of the best shooters out. Everything in this game works the way all games should work.
FreshJulius @ Jun 3rd 2008 9:17AM
By-the-by, anyone see how similar the new Indy movie's storyline was to this game [or vice-versa]? I know it's partly intentional as a genre, but there were more than a few "hmm" moments...
Gaucho @ Jun 3rd 2008 10:21AM
This game is truly fantastic. It encompasses a lot of aspects from different genres, some of which I really don't like, but it works really well in this game. I can't wait for some news to surface of a sequel.
hans @ Jun 3rd 2008 12:48PM
best game i have ever pleayed. it's just a perfect game.
Thoas @ Jun 3rd 2008 2:16PM
Very good game for a good price. Uncharted is a must have for all PS3 owners.
HektikLyfe @ Jun 3rd 2008 8:48PM
I am REALLY interested in this game but it seems like a one-time playthrough type of game that screams rental. Quality, but not ownership quality. It lacks any replay value for me.
(Kind of like Heavenly Sword which while thoroughly enjoyable, I haven't found any incentive to return to it.)
No DLC, no unlockable costumes... hey, I wouldn't mind playing through a level or two as an ass-kicking nun or something equally stupid.
The_Punisher @ Jun 3rd 2008 11:41PM
WRONG. It's not DLC, but doing special moves i nther game unlocks special content, INCLUDING costumes.
anthonyjh @ Jun 4th 2008 3:49AM
I disagree. I've played through it 3 times, once on each difficulty. Damn fine game, and worthy of multiple plays.
The gameplay is fun, and the story is just campy enough to be really charming.
HektikLyfe @ Jun 4th 2008 1:37PM
>The_Punisher: RIGHT. I was referring to Heavenly Sword which is why I described the "ass-kicking nun." You did mean "In either game" right? Additional artwork and making of videos are OK I guess, but not enough to make me go back to the game.
>anthonyjh: You are completely welcome to disagree. My point still stands. A higher difficulty level doesn't quite enough to warrant a complete replay for me. Like I said, "It lacks any replay value for me." Key term is "for me." I fully agree that it may be enough for some but personally, and for my wallet that is all that really matters, that is not enough.
This is why I was so descriptive and suggested a stupid alternate costume as more incentive to play through again.
Since Sony and their 3rd parties are all about metaphors of late, I will use one. Playing a game is like reading a book. I would rather read it again with new content then to increase the reading difficulty and read it while on a roller coaster in the dark.
